As much as i hate to say it shooting a dog with a paintball gun IS ANIMAL CRUELTY!!!! But killing the dog is legal.....go figure!! In todays video age i would video tape the dogs in your yard doing what they do. Chasing your kids and animals and take it to the law. tell them that the owners will not do anything to control the dogs and see what they say to do. Also contact animal control and show them the video and see what they say your options are. I hate the SSS method. It causes bad feelings between you and your neighbors but it is your property and you should be able to enjoy it. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do. Good luck!

Hmm, this is a good point...I wasn't really thinking so much about the kids (bad I know, I have my own toddler)...Honestly my reaction if this was ME...my toddler is out playing and a dog aggressively runs toward her, if my dog didn't there first (highly protective of our baby) and I did I would kick that sucker as hard as I could in the teeth or gut. I mean I would put every ounce of energy I had into hurting that dog to keep it away from my kiddo...My daughter loves dogs and treats them all like they are lovey dopes like ours, so she would run happily to a big dog coming at her...The consequences could be devastating...thank you poster for reminding me of that...

OP, if you can't document foul play, and get something done QUICK I would probably end up shooting the dogs to protect my kids and it would kill me. I love all animals but I love my kid the most, more than anything...Hell I'd shoot DH to protect her.

I dont draw the line with chickens. I draw it with my kids. I didnt think we could shoot the dog if they were not biting and attacking. Chasing and knocking them down our own dogs do, these dogs do not seem mean in any way, its their size that is knocking my kids down and makes it difficult for us to be outdoors. If they were to show teeth or growl at my children they would be dead. Why I was asking about them killing the chickens and us then shooting the dogs is because there is something agressive and deadly happening at that moment and that would give us reason to do it. If that makes any sense.

Yeah I know about dangerous dogs, my two pit mixes, dachshund, and American Eskimo all were put under that, well almost. My neighbor has a pack of little chihuahuas that run around about three times a week terrorizes people who are walking or just out in their yard. Every one of my dogs has a collar for the invisafence, never leave the yard, ect. The 4 little chis come and started nipping and going after my nephew. Needless to say, there is only one Chihuahua left. My dogs have never been dog aggressive or people aggressive, but I wouldn't go around messing with the babies in my house. Animal control came along with the police and they tried to press charges on us for our dogs killing the three chis and also tried to say my dogs were dangerous. But whatever, the guy dropped the charges after we threatened to file a lawsuit for his dogs attacking my nephew. And they finally agreed not to label our dogs as dangerous after they passed like a bunch of tests which were bs, but whatever.
