Hey everyone! My name is Angela!
I finally convinced my husband that we should have chickens! We adopted 5 lovely ladies on October 28, 2017. They came with their coop and run, so that was even better! Moving the coop and run has been a headache. The run is almost built back up, but they've been enjoying the full back yard for now.
Since I live in city limits, I only can have up to 5 or 6. Which is fine, it's the perfect number to start out with for me.
I have an Easter Egger (Nugget), a Speckled Sussex (Waffles), a Golden-Laced Wyandotte (Orange), a Blue-Laced Red Wyandotte (Drumstick), and a Silver-Laced Wyandotte (Curry).

I have 3 cats in the house, who are loving the windows and watching the flock roam around. I own a cat boarding resort in VA, but also work from home in WA.

I look forward to learning more about my flock and having this group as a resource!

Hello Angela. Welcome to BYC! There is tons of info here and very good people to help you on your journey as a new chicken owners. :)

If you want to get the most out of BYC, I suggest you do the following:
  • For general education, spend some time browsing the Articles link above and possibly the Learning Center. You will find excellent information for both newbies and long-time chicken owners there.
  • When you have specific questions, most of the time a quick search will come up with the answers.
  • If you don't find anything useful that way, post your question in an appropriate sub-forum. People here are very helpful and will answer your question even if it has been asked 100 times before.
Enjoy your time here.
