Planted very healthy romaine and iceberg, onion seedlings, asparagus seedlings, direct sowed broccoli, alyssum, Carrots, marigolds, i dont even know what else..
What the hoard of slugs didnt eat seems to be stalling in growth and turning pale.
We got a ton of rain recently, 3-4 days.
Temps dipped a little from 75 to 55-65. Everything is is raised beds. Burpee soil meter said i was a little above 7 pH and in idea fertility range. Still, nothing is happy.
What am I doing wrong?

Your location and elevation have lots to do with it. Knowing those would be helpful to us both.

Are you trying to use chicken fertilizer that may not be completely composted? The high nitrogen may be too harsh for new seedlings.

Not using chicken manure compost. Normal elevation in nky.

Pictures of your garden beds would help. What is normal elevation in nky? We need to know your elevation above sea level. You can google it, just ask google elevation of (your town, Ky) and it will tell you.

About 700 ft.
The soik that is in it is a compost topsoil mix from a local mulch place.
It looked ok when we bought it. Has some errant clay and mulch to it.

Eastern KY here.... Several years ago, I got a bad batch of compost, and I had similar issues. Thankfully, I had only put it in one raised bed, but it took years to remediate. It might be worth taking a soil sample to your county extension office and seeing if you can get it tested. It's far too easy to get hold of compost that is loaded with pesticides and herbicides. Hope that isn't the case for you, but worth checking.

I would be very upset if that is the case. But I'm going to have to do it.

Results are back. Very high phosphorus w/no recomnended correction.
High ph (7.6), potassium, calcium, magnesium, and zinc. Cation exchange capacity is above average at 22meq/100g (avg is 11-19).

Cation saturation is 2% K, 87% Ca, 10% Mg, 99% total bases.

Only recommendation given is to add sulphur to lower pH.

This is all greek to me.
