That's great that your buttons have hatched!! I moved mine last night off the turner (the one's from Tori) I candled a few, and most all I could see was the air sac, but there were some that were clear.
I was also cleaning the tank that the button quail and the two A&M's are in, and got a real good look at my button. I don't think hens get blue feathers on them, so this blue face is most likely a boy!! I don't really care, I mainly want them for pets, but at least I won't have to figure out what to do with infertile eggs!

I have one blue that I think is a female - it doesn't have a bib and she's going to be needing a saddle soon for the way the males are wearing her feathers away...(kidding - she NEEDS it but I can't put that on a button!!)

Yeah, this one had curled toes when it hatched, and I was having a hard time figuring out how to put a boot on it!! It straightened out on it's own, so that worked out.

Guess what? One of my A&M's just crowed!!

I am so excited! I really wanted more red chickens. One egg was cracked, but 11 eggs is more than enough!

Turns out I have a broody sitting on a zillion eggs. Same little pullet that went broody before and hatched out 4 little chicks. Now I know where all my girls have been laying.

She may get to be mama to these red sex-links. The timing should be perfect for her to think she hatched these!

I love watching a mama and babies. She was a really good mama before.

Oh yay!!! I was so worried, my hubby insisted on packing them himself, and I was preoccupied and couldn't "supervise". So I can't tell you how glad I am that only one was cracked.

If you like the girls when they hatch, I know where you can get more

.

So keep me posted. Oh, and did you actually get the note I sent? Hubby was supposed to put it in an envelope on the outside of the box....did he remember?

ETA, so preoccupied with my hubbies packing skills I forgot to say, so happy you found the laying place. I hate the Easter egg hunt game. That's one reason why I hesitate to let me girls free range.........
and YAY! that you have a girl who could brood these babies when they hatch!

Just picked up my eggs from the post office! 4 out of 7 survived, 2 were crushed and 1 was cracked and oozing. One of the eggs is marked so the other 3 will be a mystery. Hope I can post pictures for help in identifying the unknowns in the future. Letting them warm up so I can put them in the 'bator. This is so exciting!!!

Now I get to figure out what kind of a brooder to make and where I can keep it till they little ones can go outside.

I keep my babies in a large watering trough with an old window screen over top it to keep them from flying out. I hang the heat lamp over the trough. And they are in my basement. DH swears there are more and more every time he goes down to the basement.....haha there is! LOL

When will the next swap be? How do you determine who sends me eggs and who I send eggs to? Do you get to request certains kinds or amounts or do you just get whatever?
