Hey fellow blue nosers - got my chicks yesterday from Circle Pond Farm, Chester Basin - great operation - very beautiful farm on a peninsula sticking into Mahone Bay - bucolic to beat the band with drifts of sheep dotting the hills (or dots of sheep drifting or'e the hills). And tonnes of birds of all kinds. We hand a tour from a young fella who said he was more a duck man than a chicken man but gave us all sorts of info while his dad was busy. We met lots of geese and ducks and chickens galore...even some peacocks.

So bump it up for Nova Scotia!

HI All

I'm actually from NB, just outsied Moncton. SO I thought I would drop inand say hello!!

I have 16 Chantecler chickens. 6 white pullets, 1 white cockerel, 10 partridge pullets and 1 partridge cockerel. They are 19 weeks old and my very first chickens.

Glad to see so many maritimers!

I re-read my post and see that it sounds like I have partridges

Well, my DH and I converted our 12x10 baby barn into coop. We insulated to whole thin so it will be nice and warm in the winter and cool in the summer. I still have to ad the nesting boxes which I will hopefully get in this weekend. I have to finnish building my little quaranteen coop for my new arrivals first! Its the big poultry show in Peticodiac (just outside of Moncton) and I plan doing some shopping !

I'll try and get some pics up here for you guys to see.
I had no idea that chickens were soooo addictive!!
