November 15th Quilt Swap

I think adding eggs to your broody will be fine, candle the other eggs if they are at least 7-10 days old, I use a strong flash light and an empty toilet paper roll in the dark bathroom. If you see dark spots then the egg is fertile and growing. You might as well give her some fertile eggs and let her hatch them so she will be happy. I'm doing that now with my broody I gave her 4 eggs, well she had 6 but put 2 under another hen that was acting broody turns out she was faking it.

I've been using an 18volt recharable dwelt flashlight w/ tin foil taped around it, & my granny glasses ON! for candleing. I bought myself my first "granny glasses" as a 40th bday present shortly after I started quilting actually. The machine was one I'd bought myself when I was 10 yrs old (Kenmore) and I remembered being able to SEE the hole in the needle for threading it....sigh...yep there is a hole for the thread in the needles & often nice dancing embryos in the eggs but only w/ the dreaded granny glasses on!

The main issue really is Helen the Buckeye is in a diff. to reach spot & I'm going to need to sneak in after dark I believe in order to check those eggs. I tried the same last month during the daylight and mis-judged Turkey eggs which waisted a whole month of sitting w/ our 2 Bourbon Red Girls who had not in fact found the wild Tom my DH saw :(

On the SWAP fabric -- are we leaning toward sold for the green? I'm not sure why but I got that impression somehow...I'm good either solds or pattern, just checking. I'm more into this swap than the quilt I'm currently working on.

Hi I got my fabric for the Nov. blocks today. I found the pink rose and the cream fabric straight off then I found about 7 greens that could be considered sage, I stewed about it for a while then I remembered what my friend told me, go to the DMC floss and look for the name of the fabric you want place the floss on your bolts and there you go. I picked out the sage and held it up and bingo I found my bolt right off.
Humm.. now I don't have the header that lets you attach pic's !
I'll keep trying.

I never thought of using the DMC floss thanks for the tip. I can't wait to see your fabrics.
2x !!

I've had a heated conversation w/ the DH re: paint chips & the color "sage" so this totally solves the problem.
I will also color match my green fabric choice to the DMC floss shade of "sage" for this project :)

Another try at posting my fabrics...
yah there they are.
My friend who told me about the DMC floss, had worked in Fabric stores for a very long time. She said DMC reputation depends on color accuracy so that was the way to go. I has helped me a lot (when I can remember) Ha ha!

I made the mistake of going to Hobby Lobby today, any way I looked at the DMC and none said Sage, anyway here are my cream and Sage, I have not picked out my pink yet. Debating between two, and to top it off I had a coupon for 40% off, do you think I remembered to use it.
So if this is not sage let me know please. The cream looks white but it's not.
