Looks great & I love the utility. (incl. the ring pocket, which beats the heck out of hiding it under a piece of toast, so now he has the quilt maybe the gf will follow)Thanks, I like that he has working pockets and most of the pockets have snaps on them, just a quilt to be taken to the park or where ever, he lives by the beach, maybe he will hide an engagement ring in one of the pockets Oh darn forgot he needs a girlfriend first. I told him he can not hurt this quilt this one is meant to be abused, lots of cutting of the jeans, that is the worst part no maybe the snipping of the seams to rag it out, being careful not to cut the seams. All I know is my thumb will never be the same. Now my husband has one for his truck and Kenny has one that can stay in his car if he wants.![]()
Where did you get them, wow I need some of themThese scissors they are spring loaded, I love them they are the only fabric scissors I ever use, way easier on the thumb![]()
Wally world has them, hancocks, hobby lobby, they are a very popular fiskar model.Where did you get them, wow I need some of them
Let me guess your ring was hidden under a piece of toast, you have to give him credit very original.Looks great & I love the utility. (incl. the ring pocket, which beats the heck out of hiding it under a piece of toast, so now he has the quilt maybe the gf will follow)
I have been saving my DH's worn out work pants for the same type project. I also dread the cutting. I work w/ burlap a lot & have broken 3 pair scisors & actually dislocated my thumb cutting it (the DH is great at fixing the dislocated thumb which hurts but feels better after) so my point is you might actually have dislocated your thumb! Take a close look if it lines up and moved right or if it looks odd...if it looks wonky you'll need to get someone to help fix it as its about impossible to pull on it right to pop it out/back in lined up correctly on your own self
Anyone have a better way to cut THICK burlap or those rag quilt seams I'd be thrilled to know
Well it was, but * I didn't find it!!* -- I was trying to get an interview for a local job, w/ an offer for a 100% travel job that needed an answer that day & too upset to eat breakfast.Let me guess your ring was hidden under a piece of toast, you have to give him credit very original.. After 3 years of dating my husband we were both married before, he said your getting married tomorrow if you can get your butt out of bed, I had kept putting it off, sorta been there done that. anyway that was almost 17 years ago. Oh I told him I could not get married without flowers so he ran down to the grocery store and bought me some, course on the way to the court house I realized I had forgotten them, he said too bad I'm not turning back now. I laugh about that day,![]()
That's funny and you got married on my B-day, so how could you possibly go wrong. You just have gotten most of your challenges done and over with.Well it was, but * I didn't find it!!* -- I was trying to get an interview for a local job, w/ an offer for a 100% travel job that needed an answer that day & too upset to eat breakfast.
It was a mess of a day-- he kept trying to propose and it kept going wrong all day for like 8 hrs, then he finally took me to a park , asked me if I know why & I said
"so I can hug a tree b/c I'm so stressed?"
apparently that was almost the last straw
then he set me on a picnic table, keeled down on a sharp rock , & actually did the big romantic proposal thing (I didn't know about the rock under his knee until our 2nd anniversary when he gave it to me). This is his 2nd my 1st but we both which we both swore we wouldn't do. In fact, I'd told my best longest gf to shoot me if I did, so the wedding started (planned) w/ her confronting me about it and shooting me w/ a seahorse shaped water gun full of rosewater as a blessing. We'll be 8 yrs this Sept 3 -- we got married the wk after Katrina, & yes the honeymoon was planned for NewOrleans, don't even get me started about THAT, lets just say we've had more than our share of challenges! I do NOT recommend hiding the ring IN food! ;/
