I have you down, welcome, no I have not figured out the fabric yardage. I found some really pretty Sage, I went ahead and bought 2 yards, well it was what was left on the bolt. I am going back to get the other 2 colors, the worker was marking down the fabric so I didn't want to wait so I'll go back. Hey, when your husband tries to say something, these are your tools,Sign me up please
I've been reading along on your current (blue/yellow solitare) & really like this new swap as one I think will fit my time and skills (no triangles woohoo)
and I love the color plan *sage green, (peachy)pinks & a cream * will be nice to work with and a great change from the last few quilts I've done.
(Apparently everyone I know has purple for their fav. color & has had only boy babies for the past 4 yrs, way done w/ purple & blue)
I'll be fabric shopping around Aug 19 -- has anyone figured out the exact yardage for each of the 3 colors?
Meanwhile, I'm working on a log cabin twin sized to send to a 2nd cousin who is off to College this month. I've done log cabin in wool before so my 'always do something different on each quilt rule' has me doing light/dark contrast on each block so I can do one of the fun second pattern layouts. The back or front side of the quilt will be her school colors so she can have that side up big game days if she gets into that sort of thing, or just have the log cabins up if she doesn't want to be hyper team spirit. So as soon as I get this one done I'll be doing the swap block. Then I have 2 baby quilts to do one boy one girl assuming everything w/ those turns out as expected (lots of friends becoming grandparents lately).
I'll check back to see if anyone has an idea on yardage before I shop & this way if DH tries to complain about me buying more fabric I can say, "hey at least it isn't another breed of chickens we need to build a new pen for "
brilliant!
