awesome Im happy for you!! I have the one big pip i got this afternoon zipping as we speak...but the membrain is extremly white and is not zipping with the shell. He has poked a few holes in the membrain but that's it. He's about 4 hours in from the first pip. I could not stand it any longer so i tiped the bator open..stuck my spray bottle in there and hit the eggs with a warm mist of water. Looks like i softend it up a little..but hes still got some work ahead of him.

Edit: WELLLL he's a worker i suppose

Got my 3rd pip. It's a big one too. The first baby to hatch is quite the soccer player! Kicked my egg's EVERYWHERE!! Now the very first pip was so small i don't even know if i would call it a pip really. It's been 8 hrs since and no change with that egg. What do you think i should do?? Pip it bigger to see if the chick is dead or leave it alone for a little more? Also "when the soccer game was over" lol...i noticed an even smaller split in another egg than the first pip. I don't know what's going on with these millies...but one peck at the shell and they are done. I really need more millies too so im kinda upset with how week these chicks are turning out to be. They are egg's from Wwmicasa1 too...and shes's suppose to have good quality millies. Oh well, i will just have to wait a little more i suppose. Hope the rest of you are doing well!

All 11 of mine are out. I stuck a silkie in the brooder with them - I think she is doing well. She was not showing any signs of being broody, but after reading another thread on here about the power of a silkie as a mum, I thought I would try this out.

Cherlyn, I love that you put your silkie in there, I never would have thought you could do that!

I have 4 silkies hatched and 5 eggs with nothing happening. Three of the eggs are due today, 2 were due yesterday. One of the chicks can't stand up. S/he sits on her butt with her legs out in front of her or stands on her hocks. I am probably going to cull it. None of my white ones have hatched, that is the whole reason for this hatch--to get some white silkies for breeding. I do have a partridge, a buff, a black (the one that I need to cull), and a blue I think. And my aunts are visiting from Rhode Island and came over for pizza and they totally got to see the partridge hatch, that was priceless!

90% hatch...that is amazing!! congrat's...at the moment i have 5 pips and 3 hatched. One millie that's still wet in the bator and 2 in the brooder. That first millie thats in the bator i had to hatch myself. Went past the 24 hr mark from pip so i went in after it. Put a little flower where there was a little bit of blood around the Yolk-cord and put him back in the bator....seems to be doing just fine. One of the 2 little ones in the brooder looks to have severe cross beak. I was upset since they are both from my project cross breed system. Of corse i cannot cull because im such a huge softie lol, but i have a boy up the road who said he would take it in so im happy about that. I also went in after another millie that had pipped and went past the 24 hour mark..it had died in the shell..it had a large part of the yolk sack not absorbed yet so it was obviously to weak to hatch..plus it looked like a small roo too so no big loss there.."im after hen's".
