I need some recommendations. Since I have had so many issues this first hatch I am purchasing some new equipment to ensure better results. I want to buy a better candling light and a new thermometer/hygrometer. Any ideas on the best options for these items? I was looking on Ebay at some of the hand held LED candlers, but they really just look like LED flashlights. Could I just buy one of those, or is this different in some way? Or is there some better option out there? Also brands to buy or to avoid with thermometer/hygrometer? Also is there any other tool that you have found makes your incubation easier that I may be missing? I have a homemade Styrofoam incubator and thought about buying one, but honestly in the price bracket I am wanting to stay in, they don't look much more effective than the one hubby and I made! Just want to make things smoother on the next hatch! Thanks in advance for any advice or input!
Quote: Thanks! That is kind of what I have been leaning towards purchasing, but wanted to hear from someone who had tried one.
I have a lite like this with 226 lumens for candling. When it stats to get dim I put fresh batteries in and it is super bright again. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Maglite-M...D-Flashlight-226-Lumens-Grey-SP2P09H/31344053I need some recommendations. THANKS!! Looking into all of these things! In the mean time, consider my spirits lifted! I'm SO excited! Someone locally advertised that they had too many chickens to feed throughout the winter and wanted to sell 4 for $10. I called....for $10 I am picking up tomorrow: 1 speckled Sussex hen, 1 Cochin Frizzle cross rooster and 3 cochin frizzle cross hens! So cute!
