My mutt Phoeneix cross is out and peeping, sadly an Ameraucana pipped the wrong end and died sometime last night... 5 more to go. After losing one that oriented himself wrong, I will be placing them in egg cartons In the future.

Another chicken hatched!!! It doesnt look to be a black sexlink so I wonder what she is.... emailed the guy we got our eggs from to find out what all chickens he had (id thought he just had black sexlinks than remembered i saw more than that there.) either way, totally awesome!!! Female as far as I can tell by the feathers.

Salsify is happy to finally have a buddy in the brooder. New one (tan) is named Cobbler

sex links don't breed true...my sex link has had tan even yellow chicks some feather with barred rock colors

Max, my assistant bookkeeper, at work yesterday.



My chicken factory at 6:20 this morning. Since I wasn't home to let them iin the laundry room, they all crossed their legs and held it until this morning. All 3 had laid their eggs before 7am. They are so cute in there. Sara is so serious when she is laying her egg.


Sage laid another double yolk, Cinnamon laid a huge egg and Sara is consistent. Hers always looks the same. Love my chickens

Yes, I have chickens and a turkey in my house. Yes, I am crazy. But crazy is so much more fun.

I almost forgot, my chicks are on their way. I ordered 12 purebreds from Greenfire, their choice. I am so excited to see what I get. And worried. I haven't spent the much on something in a long time.
