Three more infertile eggs removed last night (day 10) for a total of 11/22 from my friend's flock. Guess her Faverolles cock is getting over the hill. She thinks he's 3 but she doesn't keep track of things like that too well. There are a couple of eggs that are not as "full" as the others but I left them in. I haven't had a good enough light to see much so not sure if they are moving or not. I bought an egg candler today. After reading the recent posts about patience and waiting for day 25-30, I'm hoping those eggs not as full will continue developing. Or the new light will show me blood rings for sure and I can get them out of there. 6/7 Marans going strong, one is questionable (not as full). Three weeks sure seems like a LOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooong time all of a sudden!

we had that and left the eggs in until day 30 we had 5 eggs and 3 hatched on day 30 they were so little but now are just as big as the rest, we kept them apart for a while,

This just blows me out.makes me question everything I have been doing.
I did have a day 27 hatch once.....named it 27.......
I am going to hang onto the ones that seem to be developing, but not filling the egg and see what happens......

I am among the ones that candles late.....day 11.I just do not like handling them very much.........
I am very slow to toss anything because I have had to many surprises......

So my humidity still won't come up. Should I put a humidifier in the room the incubator is in? Or will 60% be okay?

Pretty stoked here ! Since my first Runner Duck hatch didnt go so well im trying again . Got with my ebay seller and told her I wanted 2 dozen and let me know when she could collect them . So sunday I paid $50 for 2 dozen ( shipping included ) Thought it was a good deal , So I get an email today telling my eggs have shipped and they included an extra dozen !

I love it! They should be here by thurs and set friday or saturday!

you added a blob of wet paper towel?
are you positive you hydrometer is accurate?

at my house 60 % is fine....as long as it a good bit higher than they incubated

Seems my roo and hen have come down with fowl pox, and now another roo too. Does anyone know if I've got them quarantined if the rest of the flock is safe?

safer! the virus can be transmitted through sloughed scabs and contact...I'm sorry
just try to keep them warm and quiet...give them soft foods in case it get in their throats
let us know how they are!!

ok I feel a little better. I ended up taking the babies from the hen. She wasn't happy but she needs to be alone.
