Me too! I keep saying I am going to wait until day 10 (Wednesday) but I will probably give in on day 7 (Sunday) lol. Too anxious to see how many babies are developing!

You have way better self control than me. I usually start candling daily starting at day 3. By 12, it isn't as interesting, so I lay off.

Finally installed lights in my coops over the weekend and today I was rewarded with four eggs this morning! Yay!! My girls have only layed one egg since the cold hit 2 months ago!

@Heidisgran congrats on the new chick!! YAY!!!

I'm thinking I wrote the due date on the calendar incorrect...araucana hatched while I was down town and 3 have pipped

2 embryo's have died 1 other I can't see into well enough to know for sure

Did you start with 7 eggs? and is it a Brinsea mini incubator?


I also have 3 Cream Crested Legbar eggs and 1 which is either pure Buff Orpington, Buff Sussex or Buff Orpington crossed with RIR due today and so far 1 of the Cream Crested Legbar eggs have pipped.

I started with 7 going in but these are true Araucana's and shipped so I'm very happy with the 4 that have hatched....I'm certain now the other 3 have passed.
I have a brinsea but that's not what I incubated in....I have 4 incubators
next hatch due Monday and Tuesday....Lavender orps and blue orps!!!

Love this orps! Especially lavender and blue! My little one is crossed with blue orp I THINK. TOO CUTE!!

One egg pipped yesterday, still waiting for zipping. Another was working on pipping internally last night. Which reminds me, I need to go add some water to the incubator...

I have to tell all of you my latest funny Max story-

One of my hens, (the one thats likes to pretend she's going to lay an egg so she can sneak into the house) somehow made it past the gatekeeper, Max, into my bedroom. Max chased her into the living room around the kitchen back into the living room and back into my bedroom. But just before making it back into my room my really old dog laid across the doorway. They both ran right over my dog. She barely lifted her head and went back to sleep. How I wish I had a video of that.

And chicken yard story-

Out in the yard, I have a light Brahma that has only laid 10 eggs but is already broody. She doesn't really know what she is doing, so she randomly gets off her nest to wander around. If she takes longer than 15 minutes, the other hens will start moving all of the eggs out. I couldn't figure out why she was always tossing eggs out but I caught 2 other hens red footed. I put them back in the nest. I returned to the scene of the crime 5 minutes later and they were right back there rolling them out. When I bent over to put them back again, one of my hens decided she wanted a cuddle right at that moment and jumped on my back. Not hurting me at all, just sat on my back while I fixed the eggs waiting for me to cuddle her.
