OMG, you have no idea how much you guys have just helped ease my mind! Day 21 is actually tomorrow(Saturday) so I know they are early and I know they could stay like this for another 12 hours and be fine, I think it's the not being able to see that makes it worse, sigh.

Ochochicas, I didn't expect them to pip till sometime tonight or tomorrow. I'll have to remember they are a tad early so have to wait for them to catch up/slow down, LOL.

Jucknath, I know my fan is a 12 volt, just didn't know if the MM size would make a huge difference. I have it blowing over a light bulb onto the thermostat and in turn the air blowing off the side blows onto the water and brings up humidity.

I have 70mm fans in my incubator and they are about 20 cfm. There are different speeds and air flow variations in the same size. I tried to find the quietest ones when I bought.

Dcat, I have two 12v fans on a single 9v adapter in mine. I tried turning it off for the first hatch but temperatures got so uneven from one side of the tank to the other that I turned it back on. And my second egg had a dry membrane in the air cell area anyway and that end wasn't even exposed to the air.

When I first put in my washcloths I draped them over the fans as well and the humidity shot up nice and high, but because of the decreased airflow the temps got uneven again. I have another pip now and I've been considering turning off the fans again. I feel like every hatch is doomed to dry out in the shell because whatever. Oh well.

I'm going to go blind, too. But more because I just realised that for some reason, I put a day-glo bulb in the incubator, so I've been staring into a UVA filled incubator for three weeks. /facepalm

As for the pics, you're so, so very welcome. The little stinkers look like teeny-tiny penguins when you hold them up and look at them from the front.

I've got two that look like penguins too! lol As a matter of fact my malpositioned one is one of them. We even call it Mumble....lol

I thought that your little wonky hatcher looked an awful lot like mine. Do you know what kind or cross it is?

Mine both are Australorp x Barred rock ( In my head... >_> I call it a Rockalorp. That's just between us, though, ok?)
This next hatch also has four Australorp x GLW eggs that I really really hope make it out

More cheeping from the peanut gallery, one pushed the shell out around the pip some more and more wobbling. Last one to pip is completely on the wrong end but it did pip so I guess that says something. Hopefully if I feel the need to intervene everyone else will be hatched out already. We'll see. Thanks for the fan info guys, I'm going to leave the fan plugged in since I don't want the temps to vary badly and like I said the humidity is still at 65 so I'm just going to keep my staring at them to a minimum as much as possible.
I'll keep ya'll updated.

Our hatch is over.

Out of 16 eggs that went to lockdown 13 are jumping around in the brooder. so happy with the outcome! After the last pipped egg hatched last night I candled the remaining 3. I was sure that 2 had died, the other had internally pipped, but there was no movement, re response from my tap on the shell. I left them until this morning and then tapped into the air cell to be sure before doing an eggtopsy. 2 of the 3 were naked necks. I'm not sure what caused their demise though. One was in position, yolk almost completely absorbed no shrink wrapping, no internal pip-just died. (It was a green shell-one of the two greens I had.) The other naked neck had quite a bit of sticky clear liquid still in shell never moved into position but the yolk had just started to absorb. it was (I think) the largest of my eggs (lt brown). There was a lot of room in the egg. the last one was the one that pipped internally (it was black skin/black down) He had fully absorbed the yolk, in position, but he was shrink wrapped. If only he could have pipped through the outer shell.

. I'm thankful for my 13. 11 of them were hatched with no problem whatsoever, one was malpositioned and one was shrink wrapped. (His egg was closest under the fan unit and I am wondering about the possibility that has anything to do with it. The time between external pip and when they are ready to zip is often lengthy, so I am curious if that placement effects it. Now they are bouncing around annoying each other..and so fluffy!! As soon as the last two finish fluffing to the max....it's going to be photo session time!!! Oh, and I ended up with the last three being naked necks. Now I'm curious as to whether naked necks hatching last is the norm. (Two were from light brown eggs one from a green. My sis must have a turken roo...lol

My sister has practically every breed I swear and being new to the whole chicken thing, I haven't got a clue. I can tell you she does have Australorps...found that out yesterday when I called her to tell her how the hatch was going...lol and I think she has barred rock, the name has come up at least...lol. So it is possible. I'll be calling her later today to let her know the final outcome I'll ask. I also want to find out what her roo's are. I'm pretty sure she has a turken roo as I ended up with 3 naked necks and 1 came from a green egg...the other two light brown...lol

I think it's so funny we both had hatch day the same day, a wonky hatcher and they look a lot alike. lol

Both of my "penguins" have funny feet coloring though. They aren't black, or pink. they are both. The tops of the toes are the pinkish color and halfway up the toes the black/gray starts and blends in the throuhgh pink.

Blank post, can you tell I haven't done this before? I get so worried about my eggs, I'm constantly in there "helping". It doesn't always pay but so rewarding when you do manage to save one. My last hatch went to day 24 and produced live chicks.

I have heaps on the go, under brooches and 35 in an incubator due 24th. So addicted like the rest of you. I have to stop soon though cause it will be very hot here next month.

I hate this part because I'm so worried. Four pips last night , some cheese and then nothing. The humidity is still at 64% and never went lower. My biggest worry is that my fan is too strong and they all shrink wrapped! This is driving! me nuts

Checked my broody this morning...no chicks, but I saw movement and heard them chirping away in the eggs! I can't wait!!!

My daughter is going to be so excited when she gets back home on Sunday....hopefully we will have some chicks!

Both of my "penguins" have funny feet coloring though. They aren't black, or pink. they are both. The tops of the toes are the pinkish color and halfway up the toes the black/gray starts and blends in the throuhgh pink.

Mine too! That's one of the first things I noticed about both when I got their eggs open, pink toes and black legs. I just love chicken legs. I don't know what it is.

Grats on your turkens. I know a lot of people like them. Personally I find them to be a little creepy, and weird, (not to mention ugly

) but hey, to each his or her own. At least they hatched!
