Ha I was excited over my seven duck eggs. Very inadequate I am.

number is not important . any hatching egg is exitting for me .what will come out ,what colour ,etc.................

I love breeding chooks . when I was young I used to breed fancy pigeon . colour pattern ,spead of fly .way they flying etc................
when I m with chooks time seem does not exist .

I just saw them available in the states, its brand new, in fact I think I originally saw it looking for distributors.

@Chooks man have you ever worked with cabinets, or, did you just end up adding more of these as you grew? Im trying to decide whether I should have multiple incubators or cabinets for my meat bird expansion.

I worked with a cabinet incubator before . but I run into problems if some thing goes wrong .lost 300 set off eggs many time .marans eggs are not cheap in this country .
try to get Brinsea cabinet 380 modle but they did have in the country so i went for those one . 8 off them cost me a same price as cabinet 380 .

holy mackerel that's a lot you going into the chicks business ?. When these hatch it's going to be cute

trying to build my marans flock as fast as I can .
hatching them is the easy part .tagging them and keeping them healthy tell adult is a challenge .

I am at the end of day 11. Candled on days 5, 8 and tonight. Twins are happy and wiggly. All 17 others look great and active too. Air cells are increasing a bit now. I marked the air cell on the twins again. Will mark the others at next candling.

These white duck eggs are SO much more fun to candle! Get to see stuff and watch them move so much more than my last batch that was all dark chicken eggies!

I am on Day 11 too. All 7 are still alive. @Chooks man all mine are muttlings, so won't know what colors, shapes or sizes until they leave the shell. I am hoping for some more Blue Pekin mixes.

Mine are random crosses too. Moms are rouen, KC and unlikely but possible fawn and white runner. Dads are fawn and white runner and less likely my rouen. Neat we will be hatching the same time!

I like both way of breeding .
I like when I know what I m going to get .line breeding for example .expect certain type and hatch down of the new hatchling .
I get excitted too when I don t know what I m going to get . mutts or unknown pattern .heading receissive ,etc.........

I need to get some duck going .have geese but not duck .

you are alright about the white eggs .they are easy .
me I give up candling marans dark eggs before day 18 .was not worth the effort .
