I had no intentions of setting this late in the year but when eggs are dropped in your lap you have to dig out the incubator!

My chickens are all free range barn yard mix’s as well so I am looking forward to having some pure bloods that I can separate and experiment with if I feel the need.

I am in rural Ontario so I am wondering if I am little crazy hatching chicks this time of year and moving them outside right away but I do have a sheltered shed for them and have faith in the MHP that @Blooie designed. I have been using it since my first hatch and it has never let me down!

This is what we were just talking about. I think come spring we will divid ours up as well as start working towards some pure breeds. Not that I don’t enjoy seeing what comes peeping out, I would like to try and at least make back what I feed them. Plus, I find the idea accomplishing. Setting them all up in their own flocks and having somewhat control over things LOL

Finished my November hatch a week ago, can't start the incubator again Jan 21st. after doing hatch after hatch after hatch since March (my first year doing this) I now just sit and look at my recently cleaned and disinfected incubator sitting there so lonely.
