November hatch along, anyone?

Hello, welcome. We just hatched off 22 chicks. I would he willing to let go of some. We have 13 that are part Rhode Island Red, and either, Golden Comets, Brahma, or Orpington. They lay really nice eggs. Some extra large and double yolks. We are getting 7-13 eggs a day. The other bitties are from a Sultan rooster and 3 different tiny hens. I can provide the type per suggestion of a member non here. I'll be glad to help if I can. I'm in North FL.

Hi!! I ordered sizzle eggs from ebay and they should be hatching this Friday. 6 out of 12 made it.. heres to hoping all 6 hatch!!
I have another incubator going with my own silkie and sexlink eggs that I started Friday!

I struggled getting the temperature to stay up and steady as my incubators are in my garage. Even with styrofoam and blankets. What do you guys to do keep them warm?

Good luck hatching!!

Welcome to the thread glad you joined us

It 2 days early and already 2 chicks have broken through the shell with many more pipping. Expected to hatch Dark Cornish, however they didn't look real healthy and only 2 of 10 made it... mail ordered so you know how unlikely those are to survive. From my own flocks I have about 5 Red Ranger eggs with 2 potential fathers, an Ayam Cemani Rooster and a Dorking Rooster. Trying to make my own meat birds. I already hatched out Ayam Cemani x Red Rangers. Not very big but they do grow a bit faster than heritage breeds. I am hoping that these 5 in the incubator are Dorking x Red Ranger but I collected these too soon after the Red Ranger Hen was moved to the Dorking pen. I also have about a dozen or more Olive Egger F1 hybrids. Some were fathered by my Black Copper Maran, and others were fathered by my very first hatched chick which was a Black Maran Sex Link. He is a Cuckoo Maran with an odd stray Cooper Hackle Feather here and there. I also have 7 Black Maran Sex Links in this hatch and 1 Mystery Barnyard Mix Bantam from a flock I sold the day I started the hatch. I had one extra spot for an egg and one egg left in the nest box after the Bantam flock sold so I figured why not hatch it out. This is my last hatch of the year, this hatch will leave the indoor brooder for the outside brooder around Christmas and I will be scrubbing down the Incubator Brooder Room and preparing for a late jan early Feb first hatch of 2019 where I will have Red Sex Links (Delaware and Columbia Wyndotte females with a Production Red Rooster), and full bred Dorkings (silver Grey) to hatch. The females just started laying this week. I will also be crossing my Black Copper Maran rooster with production red females to see if I can get some dark eggers that lay more and larger eggs.

Hi all :) I'm a little late in the running... earlier today I put shipped serama eggs in my Harris farms 6100 still-air incubator. In August I hatched 7 out of 15 serama eggs, most of which are cockerels, so I'm reallllly hoping for some pullets! I asked the breeder if she could send 15, and her original response was that she might only have 12 eggs due to the weather cooling down, but on shipping day she had 24 available :yesss: soo here I go, round 2! Good luck to everyones hatches :clap:jumpy:pop

Just a quick update for everyone, I put my eggs into lockdown a couple of hours ago (UK Time). Their air pockets look great and everything is going to plan so far. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day. I will keep you all posted :)

Good luck everyone with your hatching and incubating. A week ago, we hatched a total of 22 chicks. Thirteen have Rhode Island Red father and mixed with either Brahma, Golden Comets, or Buff Orpington. The rest are fathered by my Sultan rooster and they all have feathered legs like him. I have pics of the pullets on my page. They are small. There's 2 with black and grey colors, 2 white with possible speckles coming through, and the others look like yellow chicks with feather legs. They may be the White laced Red Cornish.

Thought it was about time I joined the November hatching thread. I put 29 eggs in the incubator on Nov 8th so they should hatch on Nov 29 if all goes as planned. I am adding some diversity to my flock so I had a local breeder give me a variety pack of hatching eggs. They are all pure Breds but there are about 10 different varieties in there, just whatever she had that was laying well. Hopefully I have a successful hatch and get some cool new chickens:fl

Hi guys just a quick update, I’ve just woke up this morning (it’s 9:41 UK time) to find one of the eggs have pipped. It’s not supposed to be day 20 until this evening at 23:00. I know for a fact that my temperature is correct as I have 3 different thermometers running at the same time. Hope everyone has a fantastic day and I will keep you all updated. :)

Hey everyone!
Use too! We set on the 8th
We are incubating 6 lavenders
I’m having a heck of a time with my humidity rising though. It’s causing me some frustrations

Also my little bantam pictured in my profile went MIA (I was worried we lost her) then at this mornings feed she came barreling out of the horse area of our barn like a bat out of hell making all kinds of noice. Havent seen her for over a week. She’s clearly gone broody. Tomorrow morning I’ll oay closer attention as to where she comes running from. Fingers crossed I find her stash of soon to be babies. I’ll assume she’s about a week in. Maybe 2 :)
