Just an update. Candled 6 of the 20 eggs. Didn't want to mess with the others. All 6 has life!! This is day 4.

They have the dot and the spider veins going out from it.

Candled 4 more. Just couldn't help myself. 2 good, 1 iffy and one not really sure. Just looks like a big blub in there with veins.

Veins means a live chick.. if the veins turn dark (blackish) and degrade that means the embryo would have died

Got yea. I will look at 3 or so a day. Rotate them and see whats going on day by day. Just don't want to handle them all everyday.

yeah.. it's a good idea not to take them out and candle every day.. mainly because it increases the chance of bumping/dropping them.. but there's also the greater chance of contamination with funky bacteria

lol. try an emu egg.. 55 to 60 days.. and you can't candle them!
