I can handle a random death, but after 3, I'm very angry. I purchased 7 bantams and 2 indian runners about 3 weeks ago. I will leave home in the morning and come home, they are gone. I've lost 2 banams and 1 duck so far.

I've never fed this non-medicated poultry flock feed that the store owner suggested I feed.

Their poop is normal, they are not lethargic, they are feed well, they have plenty of water, I've given electrolytes, I've given grit. I clean the pen weekly.

I'm out of answers.

I think you might have put this in the wrong area of the forum by accident - you would probably get better feedback by moving it to a better fitting area.

You could use the "report" feature to report your own thread - admin may move it (works on other sites I belong to) -- or you could just edit this post to "delete" the text and repost it in the other area......

Are they "gone" or have they been taken by a predator? Do you have predators in your area such as possum, raccoon, weasel, fox...and dogs?? I'm assuming from your post that you let them out in the morning and leave them alone to free-range til you get home in the afternoon? Can you post some pics of your setup...we might be able to better help you if you do...so sorry for your losses.

They are just dead. they are all in an above ground coop. I don't let mine free range anymore because I am just recently rebuilding my flock because of a dog. have you see the pic I posted of what was in it's mouth?

I feel your pain. Last night we lost our first Bantam and she just happened to be my favorite and my daughters chick. We thinks that it might have been the dog since we have a Rat Terrier that we left home with our Molly girl (chocolate lab). Very disappointing but I feel that is was my fault that I left feeling comfortable that Murphy would leave the chicks alone. Now before free ranging I am going to have to make sure the dog is in the house.
