I'm ready to hatch eggs in my kindergarten classroom. A parent brought in fertile eggs this afternoon, and the incubator is good to go. However, I just realized that if I start the eggs right away, 21 days from now, my class will be gone all day on a field trip. I think I'd like to wait for 2 days before I start these eggs in the bator. So, will that work? Can I just leave them sitting out on the table in the classroom until Thursday?

Hmmm. do you have an automatic egg turner?
If so put the eggs in the turner on the counter so that they get turned...
They have to be turned even when they are not incubated

86, thanks for mentioning turning the eggs! I should have thought of it. Well, even though I've been assured that eggs will last for several days, I couldn't wait, and put them in the bator last night. These ones are brown and bigger than what I did last time. My students are very excited, and keep having to be reminded that we have to wait for the big day. I guess this experience will teach us patience!
