Poor little Butter led the way for Fall molting. By the time she finished, she was looking pretty rough. On the plus side, I'm sure she's cooler than everybody else and it's been crazy hot here in the 90s for the last couple of weeks so that probably feels good.

Wow! Hope Butter's feeling better.

The funny thing about molting is, sometimes it's uglier when they DON'T! You should see my Hero (Jersey Giant roo) right now. He's 1 1/2 years old, so this is his 2nd molt. He is a very vain preener, with very lustrous feathers, and he HATES molting, but his tail feathers are his originals, and they are so ratty they look like Winnie the Witch's feather duster! :lau Thank God he's FiNALLY starting to lose them, but if he has to strut around with a naked butt...:gig:clap

(...and he might never drop his drawers again.:sick)
