So apparently chicken math does not just apply to chickens.

My wife decided she wants to try and hatch more eggs from our old and new rooster.

She made me buy a second nurture right 360.

Incubator math?

Hahaha! Incubator math is most definitely a thing! I have become a one woman incubator testing facility, lol. I'm down to ONLY 3 incubators now but only because I dropped one and broke it and I have given away or sold 4 others but honestly only because the counter only holds 4 table top incubators. :lau

Thats awesome, it seems chicken math applies to everything.

I am raising 13 dominiques right now , 12 females 1 male they are in the garage. I ordered them from ideal hatchery 1 day shipping from Texas for 8 bucks and all the chicks are super healthy.

Our goal is to raise and sell dominiques locally or trade to our amish friends for lumber and food. Not gonna compete with big hatcheries but most of the amish around me want started pullets so I have traded some already.

So the incubators will come in handy for sure if i have viable eggs lol,

One of my previous barred rock roosters converted to the Amish once I told him he could have 15 hens to himself. Lol. He was one of 3 straight runs all 3 were roosters.

Today is day 7 for the first incubator so I will candle and hopefully I have some development in some of them.

Zara the barred rock amish rooster pic in his amish hen house. And some of the dominiques

The factory settings on nurture rights are usually fairly accurate, though not always perfect. If you find that yours is off slightly, you can either adjust the settings knowing what the difference is, or you can recalibrate it. Here’s the instructions on how to recalibrate. Also be aware that it only reads in increments of .5 degrees.

I would also recommend practicing opening and closing it. It can be a little tricky to get the lid into the groove sometimes, so you want to make sure you can get it closed all the way.
Thank you for this. Have been trying to reach them because mine 2as off about 1 degree with other calibrated thermometers. And didn't know how to get this done. So really thank you for this.
