Nutritional Requirements - Ducks vs Chickens

The ingredients listed on the bags are what’s supposed to be in the bag at the time it was made. Most vitamins function in the body of ducks similar to what they do in humans. It’s just in different concentrations. So sometimes if there isn’t a lot of scientific literature on a specific compound you are interested in, you might try looking at research done on humans. It’s not always the same, but usually similar.

Then it goes from processing to bags then onto trucks to where ever then lays in feed stores etc. so along the way from beginning to end at our feed room I am sure some vitamins are lost. or at least not what they were when this process started. I ferment my feed and It is one way I feel I am at least getting some extra nutrients into my birds. Actually they won't eat dry feed most have only ate FF Pretty sure this oct will be 7 yrs since I started FF. I also add Oregano and turmeric, Spirulina and garlic to my FF.

Yes exactly. Some vitamins degrade over time and heat. So it only goes downhill from the date of manufacture.

I went to Walmart today and took a picture of nutritional yeast and it’s ingredient label. So people could compare and know what sort of choices may be in their area.
