The seramas are so tempting!! $10 is totally reasonable! Those eggs are expensive and I've heard can be difficult to hatch because of fertility problems. I just learned about them recently and they are so interesting! I love how those tiny little roosters seem to think they are big! Of course, I say the same about our silkie rooster. I should really behave though. I've got 31 chicks due in the next day or so, and another 2 dozen due on the 31st.

The bunny lady must not show them at all, just breeds for fun. I expect most of her customers don't realize they are getting a mixed breed either. I've taken home animals before - just because I travelled so far to get them. It never quite works out the way I hoped it would.

I expect so. Although she really should know more than she did, in my opinion. She didn't even know the names of the colors of her rabbits, when I asked her after to try to figure out the genetics of mine. She was also breeding a Dutch that completely lacked a blaze, and most of the offspring definitely reflected that decision.

She didn't know the names of the colors?? I am a bit speechless really. If a person doesn't know the colors of the animals, perhaps she shouldn't be breeding them. I expect that asking for genetic information was probably overwhelming for her. Very disappointing. I hope the lady is responsible about her breeding, not breeding animals she can't find good homes for.

I saw on another thread that your sandhill order should be arriving! That will be exciting! Did you order specific birds or a surprise?

Specifics! Tao chick and I split an order, so we both ordered what we wanted. I am really happy that they actually shipped out, after what's been going on with my waterfowl order I was darn near convinced that they wouldn't, lol. There will be five surprise chicks too, I had to order them to fill up the order, lol.

Alrighty, since we're getting close, I want to confirm what I am bringing for everyone. Let me know if I'm supposed to bring something for you and you're not on this list.

Chicken girl 15: Three serama chicks

LuvMyChicks: Possibly one female gosling

Cutipatootie: 6 WH eggs (if they actually start laying, sigh)

AmberKnits - 2 AC cull chicks

Also, if my serama hatch goes well, I will have more available. If anyone is interested in some, please let me know. Or the rabbits. At this point I would pretty much give those rabbits away.

Don't worry to much if you can't get eggs from the WH. There is always next year.

Whahoo! We're back on line, yay! :celebrate

Looks like I may have a few pea eggs (peacock, peahen, pea chick) by Saturday if anyone is interested. I put a few in the bator last week & they look like they're developing, but will know for sure by Friday. Colors in my pea pen are are purple black shoulder pied white eye, PBS, spalding cameo, and cameo BS. Will only bring these eggs if someone definitely wants them. Chickenstock price is $10/egg. Anyone interested who has not hatched peas before, please do ur research. Pea eggs can be tricky to hatch and pea chicks are delicate. I love my peas & think of them as my fantastic beasts .

I want them :drool

I'll get in touch with my local feed store and have them order in the special high protein medicated feed for them again.
Great! Friday is day 9 for the ones in my bator. After candling, I will confirm fertility and how many eggs I have at that time. Peas are so much fun! I'm so glad they started laying in time for me to share at chickenstock. :)
