Ooh, a Fall Chicken Stock!

I had such a great time at chickenstock. Thanks chickengirl for hosting. I came home with more birds but I knew that ahead of time. Everyone is settled in and doing well. There were so many people I did not get to talk enough with and I'm sorry. I am definitely interested in a fall chickenstock.

Whahoo! We're back on line, yay!

Looks like I may have a few pea eggs (peacock, peahen, pea chick) by Saturday if anyone is interested. I put a few in the bator last week & they look like they're developing, but will know for sure by Friday. Colors in my pea pen are are purple black shoulder pied white eye, PBS, spalding cameo, and cameo BS. Will only bring these eggs if someone definitely wants them. Chickenstock price is $10/egg. Anyone interested who has not hatched peas before, please do ur research. Pea eggs can be tricky to hatch and pea chicks are delicate. I love my peas & think of them as my fantastic beasts .

All my chicks are getting along regardless of ages 1 - 4 weeks
I like to keep track of when they are hatched
Amber - Cochin and frizzle ? 1 -2 weeks
Tao - The 2 chicks I got were 1 Maran and 1 polish and what ? 3 , 4 weeks ?
Phorebirds - 1 white Spitz - my friends little girl likes / wants my chick ....1 - 2 week?
They are all sleeping / cuddling inside the box..

Tao - The 2 chicks I got were 1 Maran and 1 polish and what ? 3 , 4 weeks ?.

All the birds I sold hatched around 4/22. You have a blue (I think) Marans and a Pumpkin Pavlovskaya. My fingers are crossed that they are both pullets. I hope all of the "hopefully pullets" work out for everyone.

I brought home many probable roos. I'm hoping to get one out to rancher. He sent a message that he didn't realize he missed chicken stock because he's been busy. The others I'll take to auction June 25 or list on Craigslist. I don't have the energy to grow them all out for dinner.

I have 51 chicks in a brooder. 47 hatched, I gave away 4, 2 died, 10 are from Sandhill. I'll sell 27 of the EE and OE chicks from my flock and probably narrow down my breed groups this week. During the predicted rain I will be mucking through the mud moving a grow out coop, putting up fence, and trying to get some of the garden planted between raindrops.

I did take home hatching eggs from the raffle OE/EE frizzle eggs? Who did they come from? Just curious!

It was nice meeting other chicken people! Thanks to the host, and some new friends I met. I was glad to bring home two Blue Wheatons purchased from Tao Chick, but they did not receive a very warm welcome from my slightly older teen chicks (mainly my two Black Australorps), so I have them separated in my chick brooder for another week and I'll try again to integrate them. I was hoping they would follow the others up the ramp to roost at night, but I came out to find them hunkered down in a bed of grass clippings at opposite ends of the run. I felt so bad for them! I'll keep you updated if you are interested. Thanks again for the invite!

The young spitz are 2 weeks old. Glad everyone is getting along well!
