I may be interested in EE or ameraucana, so I can make sure my green layers have diversified/unrelated genetics. What colors do you have? Photos please
I can see how that would easily cause heart failure!

I have two CL/EE Roos from last Chickenstock & a possible Olive Egger roo ( lady wasn't sure) - with pea comb, muff & evidence of a prev. Generation with feathered legs. So, roosters aren't an issue, but I was thinking more of chicks to raise out for pullets.

Just replying so I don't lose this thread! Hubby and I are currently looking for a roo to replace our mean one, and a couple of chicks to add to our flock (in a few months). Currently we have a SLW, GLW, EE, RIR, Barred Rock and Buff Orp. Our roo is a Black Australorp and unpredictable and mean with people. He can be fine for a couple of weeks, then attacks so he needs to go.

We hope to add maybe 3 more hens? Breed types we are looking at are Black Copper Maran, a blue egg layer (maybe a Cream Legbar or an Ameraucana). Other hen choices we were looking at were a Welsummer, Olive Egger, Speckled Sussex, a different colored Orp. Basically ones to give us another egg color or two and something that is a different color than our current flock.

For a new roo we want a winter hardy, dual breed, large breed bird.

I'm not sure if we'll make it to this event or not, but I'm keeping an eye on this thread and who has what in case someone here has the additions we are looking for. We may order soon off of Meyer's or something as we are afraid of missing out.

We are located between Rochester and Syracuse. I'll post a picture of our rooster, hatched early April '16 and is an unpredictable jerk at times. He is handsome though! And he is a good protector of his girls. That's what has been holding us back for a couple of months on replacing him *sigh*.

The girls are in laying mode again which means I'm getting the incubator out again. I'm not exactly sure what girls are laying but all brown eggs are getting baked Fer 21 days. I have at least 5 breeds of rooster that could be father and even more breeds of girls so only time will show what I've done. Wish me luck, and lots of big combs.

I'm itching to start up my incubator too! But, need to fix up the the brooder coop b4 I set eggs, so I don't get ahead of myself.
I'm changing the brooder coop's design from last year, so have some building to do & putting wire on the dirt floor to prevent critters from burrowing under (even though have deep litter in there).

Hope you have a great hatch & some single-combed boys to supply those folks with.

every little chick has a purpose. Even if they all turn out to be boys. The more cockerels the more meat in the freezer.

I have a couple young boys that are EE. Their father is a Wheaten Ameraucana and their mom is a Crested Cream Legbar. I'm willing to give them both to you and you can choose to keep your favorite for breeding and eat the other. They hatched from a broody on 9/8/16. If you don't make it to chickenstock the trip would be probably 2 hours. I'm near the Herkimer exit of the thruway.
