I love this! If I was handy at all, this is just what I would build in my yard.

VERY NICE!It's a day late, but here are the pictures I just took. The first two are the 6x6 coop with 6x10 run that I built by myself with a raised bed cucmber trellis attached to the end. First time using power tools and happy with the result. The rooster is the pretty boy I got from Travis and Tab earlier this year with a few of the pullets from the same trip (all laying nicely). He is a double barred golden coockoo marans.
I sent them a message, as Martha, our hen, came from the same source. The feathers around her vent are dirty, and I'm worried I might have purchased a problem.I think that larger light brown egg we got yesterday was from lavender orp! We got another egg this morning and it went back down in size to the other two brown ones we had. If we get another this afternoon, that means we officially have 3 hens that are all laying! (Now that I've been informed my silkie hen is in fact a roo LOL) On Monday I will have three roos and three hens. Hopefully everyone will get along nicely.
Also just came across this ad on CL...Not sure if this person is on here but maybe someone can help them out?!?

I sent them a message also....suggesting that they should have quarentined the bird until they were sure it was not sick ....HOWEVER quarentine does not prevent all illness transmission....many birds become immune to germs in their flock but continue to be "carriers" of that germ for life. One of the only ways to make sure you don't lose your non-immune flock to such problem is to NEVER bring an adult bird into your flock. Get eggs from the person who's chickens you admire and hatch them yourself or get day olds from their stock that were incubator hatched.I sent them a message, as Martha, our hen, came from the same source.
