NY chicken lover!!!!

Yay, Photo Friday and I have something to share! All 6 brown egg layers....finally all laid 6 normal brown eggs!

The pic is the 6 brown eggs, 2 EE blue all collected today. The one to the left is kinda a creamy color that I collected yesterday. Was thinking maybe an Ancona started, but looking at it again tonight it has a few tiny brown spots on top. It is the texture of sandpaint, so maybe another abnormal? I was just thrilled to find 6 brown eggs intact! Hubby took a dozen to work this morning to give to the lady I bought the Eglu from, or to sell. That only leaves me with 4 1/2 dozen left in the fridge. Better find some egg customers!
Beautiful Eggs :)
So- here are my pics. Not to great as I was short on time today. Gonna get better ones tomorrow. My new Mille Fleur Cochins came and my first Mille Fleur rooster had his first chicks hatch under a broodie. So here goes.
Here is Sunshine (NEW)
Ooh, Love those mille fluer cochins!
Photo Friday! Ok here goes...

I got my new coop yesterday after being very unhappy with the one I built. Put it together last night, stained it and I'm getting everyone settled in it today along with putting some better locks on it and placing cement blocks around the bottom edges.
It came out great! Looks nice.

Yes, from paint parents. As you can see I got a blue :love Also got some paints, paint showgirls, and my broody silkie who hatched some for me hatched a black.

Good Morning!
Woke up this morning to noisy kids and then.....to a noisy rooster! Looks like my lavender orp finally found his voice. I'm hoping he doesn't get much louder than he was this morning. I'll try posting a video I took of him on the porch.

As far as everyone settling in with the new coop - I'm hoping I don't have to go thru what I went thru last night again tonight! I ran out to the mall last night right when this huge storm started. This new coop doesn't have a door that actually closes off from the run. It's a ramp from the run up to the coop and that "window" into the coop has no closure. So it's always open. Which I'm kind of not liking. My other coop has two doors on it and I always close the one that led into the run just in case something ever did make it into the run, it would then have to figure out a way into the coop. So I'm going to have to figure something out with that. Anyway, I got home around 8, shined my headlights on the new coop and all three silkies were huddled together on the ground in the far left back corner. And all I could think of was great, how on earth and I going to get them out of that corner and up into the coop. There is a door to the run but as far as reaching to them, I definitely wouldn't have been able to. Luckily one my kids left their plastic toy bats out so I was able to get that in there and "herd" them towards me. Once I got them in their coop, it's like they were all releived to have a dry comfy place to roost for the night. I can see all three of these silkies acting just like Miss Paris! LOL

Doesn't look like I'll be able to upload the video unless it's done thru YouTube.

Ahhh silkies, dumber than rocks. I can't help but love them even more because they are dopes and clearly need someone to take care of them.

Wow! Congrats! I would be thrilled to get six eggs! Out of 60+ chickens not many eggs! Lots of feathers!

Someone posted on CL with an egg problem. They think because they brought home a bird the fair. Me I'd be happy at 50% ratio. I can't wait for these broodies to break and start laying again.
