Anyone got any advice?

Don't pee into the wind, is all the advice I have man sorry.

it's kinda funny to read how all of that started for him. I read his book "Bloodtrails the truth about bowhunting" .and he tells the story. It was the early 70's and non stop touring with the Amboy Dukes was taking it's toll onhim and he actually collapsed on stage. So he took a year off to hunt and clense his mind and soul. He had at this point never killed anything with a bow. Only a gun. So he went to a rifle ranch in Michigan with some as he describes "fat lazy slob" as the hunting guide. The guide knew nothing about bow hunting. Nothing. They were hunting goats. It took Ted about 10 months to finally kill his 1st goat. At that point he looks at the "fat lazy slob" and says "we are really whacking and stacking them now". True story. That book as with all of Ted's books are a good honest read. If you are politically correct or easily insulted or simply don't have a sense of humor I suggest you don't read them as your head will explode

I despise our whole "P.C." culture. It has gotten truly out of hand and doesn't just border on the ridiculous, it IS ridiculous. Anyway, I have heard several interviews with Nugent and actually have some much-aligned political views and philosophies. Being sensitive about reading hunting stories, I probably would pass on the books, but having listened to him talk, I can imagine they are very entertaining. He's a very interesting guy.

I am currently growing out 4 Wheaten Maran roosters, 2 blue and 2 black. The nicest of the lot, a blue, I noticed only has one wattle. Has anyone ever had that happen. I am thinking that I should not use him as a breeder, yes?

Hopefully I will start getting eggs soon, the pullets are starting to develop combs.

yes turkey vultures are a good thing. Natures garbage men. Without them the world would be a stinkier place

Any bird that sports a mug like that AND has to pee on its own legs to stay clean deserves to be left alone.

Joking aside, as ungainly and homely as they appear, they are wonders to behold on the wing. God gave them a chance to shine in the sky.

If you have another rooster I would use that one. Though if you are just looking to get dark eggs you could use him.

I have Lav Amer over EE hens just because I want colored eggs of any shade but brown.

I am keeping the best of my BM rooster to eventually replace the one I have. I will most likely keep them both. Just in case.

TOB, looks to be three Del pullets. Did you want them all? There appears to be two CR's and the Lavender in the picture looks to be a pullet too.

I think the marans are two for two. I intend to keep the pullets and give away the roos. There also appears to be a Del roo too.

About the 3 Del pullets: Yes, Yes, & Yes!

DH wanted me to post that we have an excess of started golden cuckoo maran roos if anyone is interested. We can't keep them all and will send them to auction so we don't have to feed them.

Horsekeeper got a couple from us last year and they are very handsome.
