NY chicken lover!!!!

My chicks in the garage brooder are now 5 weeks old. I have had the light on for them 24/7 and they do seem to prefer being under the light for the most part.
When can I put them out in the coop? I will fence them off so they have an entire 10 x 10 room to themselves. I'm more worried about temps. Or are they okay at this point?
They are amberlinks, tetra tints and red sex links, if that makes a difference.

I'd put them outside if they are fully feathered, but I use an ecoglow so my chicks get used to cooler temps sooner. If you are concerned, keep them inside another week or so, but without the light. Then put outside.

There is a pediatric dentist that is affiliated with Faxon St. Lukes Hospital, and takes Child Health Plus. My daughter takes her kids there & she loves it. They see a female dentist. Its on Burrstone Rd, across from Slocum Dickson near the Hospital. If you want the info, pm me.
It couldn't hurt to have the info. for future need. The doctor I thought was more concerned with money than treating was Cognetto on Gennesee St. in utica. He is also affiliated with Faxton. The doctor that has started work on Fiona and is doing a great job in Rochester is Dr. Newman.

Here's the crazy big egg from my leghorn next to a buff orp egg and in my hand. No blood or anything!

And here's what my silkie left for me today, on her first day back from winter break. It looks like the egg folded on itself during development, and one side is completely flat:

I have a copy of Practical Poultry that explains these eggs. Would you like to know what it says about flat sided eggs? Please keep in mind that the information I pass along is just being regurgitated from the books and periodicals I read.

Has anyone else been seeing all the rude and derogatory responses on here that people are posting in response to others' questions? Not in this thread, of course, but on the site in general? Like when I got attacked by someone over saying that Sevin was an okay way to get rid of mites, or a post I just witnessed where one member went off on other for no reason? One of the people I know in the real world told me they stuck to just the duck section for just that reason, and I'm beginning to see why...

Anyway, in other news, I got a HUGE egg today! I'm going to have to take a picture, it's ridiculously big. Larger than even the eggs my pekins used to lay me. I'm hoping tomorrow is going to be nice like they say, because I need to work on the coop I'm building. Today was terrible weather-wise here, all slushy and snowy and cold, ugh.

Now I had typed out a whole page of stuff to comment on this, but it got deleted for reasons I won't go into. So just let me say this.

Question for you all...See that little egg in grammas pic above? I have been getting one regularly now from the terrorist coop for the last two weeks or so. I cant figure out if its from one of the br, rir or red sexlinks. Never happened before. Anyone know why this is occurring? I found only two yolks out of the 6 I cooked up for the cheeps. I would really like to know why this is happening and if I should cull the bird if I figure out who it is.

I've found three of them over the past week or so - tiny, perfect brown eggs. They're from one of the big girls. It's a conspiracy!
