NY chicken lover!!!!

Do you have any pictures of them you'd could PM me? I just looked them up and the pictures that came up are more golden in color than just black and white.

I found this image online when I searched Barred Easter Egger....Cute!

I wanted to comment on past posts.

TOB--love the coop

Breella--like the feeder strung up with yarn, great idea

Sunnyside--so far the sudafed is working good, but thanks for the info. Its amazing how much you can take breathing for granted until you can't. I'm taking my daughter to a dentist in Rochester next week and my brother doesn't live too far off W. Ridge Rd.

Hope you're feeling better soon.

Got the last of the siding up today. Well, the board part of the board and batten. So I guess that leaves the batten part, but that should move along quickly, I think. Staining tomorrow. Oh joy.

I was thinking that black fly season is about to start. Do the black flies bother chickens like they bother people? I hope not!

Thank you , Deborah

How did you get your barred EE's and OE's. I have a BR in with a Lav Amer roo. Though it's unlikely she'll be laying any eggs to hatch this year and she is broody, sitting on eggs.
I have 2 double barred roos which all offspring from them will be barred. I see a more distinct barring in the babies when one of these roos is crossed with a better barred hen. Double barred means they carry the barring gene on each allele (X andY).

I had an EE hen but she laid brown. I'd just like to get more colored egg layers and I would like to get some olive egg layers.

Everyone else - I posted five BM's on CL and two chicks. One blk ee and a CR. all for free. One BM is a roo the other four I can't tell yet. I would expect to see some white on the hackles by now if they were roos but I don't so I don't know.
