Its official..The Amber Link / white Plymouth rock teens are Ladies ...2 perfect little eggs

I have have some trouble with Roxy ..
Her vent has been swollen / Red .. At first I thought it was because she was laying early ..
But a couple of days later I found a dirty peach ? pit in the cage ...I think that went through her ..
Web says use preparation H & antibiotic ointment for the swelling..it also mentioned honey .
first day
I did a sink soak with witch hazel & warm water for her bottom...cut feathers in the vent area ..applied preparation H & antibiotic ointment
2nd did the same except added honey also ..
3rd soak & just honey as she looked so much better after I added the honey .
The redness is gradually going away .

Question ? If a hen is laying eggs is she mature enough for sex ? The Teens are young at the most 4 1/2 months ..
I have kept the roo seperate from roxy as she is still healing

I try so hard to get to bed earlier and it never seems to happen. What's worse is that people don't realize that others work different hours and that its not ok to just pop over instead of call just before 8pm. My hound dog howled/barked for 10 minutes setting off all 3 of the indoor dogs last night. I'm so tired. Hope everyone has a better rest of the night and day than I will.

Stony the camper is coming along beautifully although I must report I am not a camping person don't like to go without the comforts mainly my running water, indoor toilet and shower, and my internet my idea of camping was getting a cabin at Darien Lake.

Rancher I was showing the husband some pictures of Silkies and he says they look like miniature Llamas or Alpacas

Duck fence was finally finished today and I moved the ducks out to their duck house let them run around for a while in their new fence and they loved it. Moved 3 of the teeny boppers in with the big girls tonight one hopped right up with the rooster and his girls but the other two were kinda off by themselves but at least the big girls didn't pick on them. Tomorrow may move a few more of the teeny Boppers in with the big girls.
Spent an hour tonight cleaning two of the bators out as I had a rotten egg explode and of course it was a large duck egg so even more mess Yuck Yuck and then I decided smart move would be to candle all the bators and of course I dropped an egg in one of the bators and cracked it making a mess. Good news is that all the rest of my duck eggs are doing good one of them I could see the little duck webbed foot.

I have one bator going on Lock down tomorrow so can't wait to see what I hatch from that one. Last 2 hatches were small as they were my first hatches I started out with 20 eggs ended up with 16 that were fertile and from 16 eggs I ended up with 14 chicks that are all doing great.

Well have to see Dr. again tomorrow for the shoulder although I think it is just to suck insurance money not like he is going to tell me anything different than 7 days ago already told me I need to have surgery again and I told him after the 9th of August as I have a class starting next Monday have to make the money to pay all of his copays LOL!.

Tab- how is your place with the flooding? See that Rome area got hit with Tuesdays storm. Cortland county got hit with the storm on Monday, lots of flash flooding. Water came up high and fast, have damage but nothing like Oneida and Herkimer. And now the Whitney Point dam is closed, backing the Otselic River up. My parents corn and soybean fields are going under, same as July 3, 2006.

Hello everyone I've been doing a lot of homework summer classes are becoming bit tough so I just don't have the time BYC as much. I've missed 4 days of post. So I hope everyone is well the rain is tough, my silkie are laying like champs no one told them they are poor layers of small eggs. My 2 girls are 5 per girl a week of medium eggs. My barred rock on the other hand well it's the weather keeping her down. I can't wait till my hybrids start laying any day now. Fall should be when my other girls should start.

I've been running early mornings and I def get to see some strange people, like the guy who goes right in my face and starts talking I'm like I gotta go lol.

I hope this day finds you well, off to work.

My favorite way to amuse myself while camping is listening to the Canadian women ramble and talk. My grandmother is 100% French. My grandmother swears perfectly in German, French and English. Let me tell you ...the Canadian women who I listen to, swear like truck drivers
