NY chicken lover!!!!

Pharm--Hope your day goes better today and hopefully your allergies won't act up so bad. Another week of hot humid weather Yuck! I was hoping for a week of dry weather. Really need some good haying weather.

Cass good luck with the hen.
Pharm I hope you have a better day today
Tab I am glad he settled down too he is a pretty roo and husband even liked him.
Rancher and Cass it is very aggravating when the Internet keeps going out I have frontier as it is only option no cable down my rd and dishes not doing Hughes net in my area anymore something about satellite in sky. I technically am too far out from the substation even for frontier DSL but they did hook me up with a signal booster so I could have it but mine is constantly in and out during the rain it is a break somewhere in one of the lines that is getting water in it they have looked for it find something fix it then it breaks somewhere else .

On the baby chick front Lucky the silkie was doing great this morning and was joined by a bald neck, 2 black silkies, and some Marans and still ave some hatching.
Does any of the silkie owners find that you have to assist a lot of the babies to hatch? I've had to help 2 of 3 they seem like they're too big to get out

Of course we remember you.

As far as Verizon goes, I've been having trouble with the internet kicking out every time there is a storm or heavy rain. I've considered Time Warner. We don't have cable and DW wants it. I'm reluctant. Can't get Fios here either.

It's very frustrating.

Don't know about Marge. Perhaps her egg laying will alleviate the trouble? Too make sure they have lots of grit. Summer months they eat lots of grasses.

We've had a package deal with internet, dish network and land line phone. We have recently cancelled our home phone (use only cells now) and we got rid of our dish network. Saving us a ton of $ every month and we honestly don't miss it. We did get Hulu Plus for $7.99 a month and we got a good antenna which picks up Syracuse (even though we're south of Rochester). We have had Frontier for internet for a long time, and for the most part, have been happy with it. We have a very low speed (or whatever it goes by) but can still stream videos with no problems. Once in a blue moon we do lose internet, but they have us up and running again within a day or so. We can't get cable where we are, so Time Warner was out of the question.

Nutty,
Good save on the chick! Can you add marbles to the waterer to prevent fall-ins? We've filled the water tray with marbles, so they can drink between the marbles, but can't fall in and drown.

We are paying $92 a month for the phone and internet. We need the long distance cuz two kids live out of state.

We have the Freedom plan and DSL. What frustrates me is that I pay some things on line and need access to my bank accounts. I no longer get paper statements for some things.

Would a wireless set up help?

What kind of Antenna do you have? Ours is really bad. We sometimes can't get 46 and 56. I can't climb on the roof. I've seen some that attach to the side of the house outside.

That's funny---silkies too big to get out of the shell. My silkie chicks are so small they get run over by the regular sized chicks, making me glad I have a divided brooder set up when I accidently hatched a couple silkie eggs.

Morning Everyone,
Anyone know what Silkie color this last chick is? It's my darkest one so I'm thinking blue? Just want to be sure....

We have unlimited long distance with our cell phones. We were only using the landline for fax machine and we will make due without that.
Dh went to Radio Shack for the antennae. I'm not sure which one, but it was around $90 or $100. He attached it right to our deck, so he didn't have to climb. We get 26 stations with it, mostly Syracuse. Radio Shack was very helpful.
Our internet has a wireless router, so all our laptops, Kindles, tv's, etc hook up easily.
With all these waves in the air, all I'll need is your hat and I'll pick up Syracuse too!

ADORABLE!!

Also, here are my two little ones:

The Silkie chick is turning a shade of blue/grey and the all black chick I got from Rancher to keep it company is getting barring. They are cute, the silkie treats the Roo like a mom and hides under foot.
