Lynzi glad everyone is laying! All my 6 babies are all laying now, one is giving me jumbo eggs. My silkies doing well my BR is going through a molt so no eggs. My brabanter Welsummer and Faverolle are 3.5 - 4 months not quite ready to lay. But it's nice to get a bunch of eggs now.

The eggs I'm getting from my buff Orp are jumbo too! I can't even close these egg cartons with them in there! I opened the one she laid today that was huge to see if it was a double yolker but it wasn't. Tasted good though! Lol My lavender silkies will be 20wks old next Wednesday. I'll be anxiously waiting for her to start laying! I'm sure it'll take forever though. :-/

Is it possible to still have cicada's around? I just found this today out back, still alive and kicking. I also saw one of my chicks eating a huge bug yesterday, I didn't think much of it but I'm pretty sure it was the same thing....

Spent almost 4 hours in the coop this morning watching the hens lay, trying to figure out who's my egg eater.

I thought it was one of the BA's because I saw her a long time ago eating one egg. I think that was just a fluke because this morning she laid an egg, say the song and hopped right out.
One of my older red sex links laid an egg this morning (I've been trying to also figure out who's been laying the thin shelled egg... now I know), turned around and dug in for breakfast. She got tagged with an orange zip tie and will go to auction with the roo. Hopefully that's it for egg eaters.
Only one of my new little tetra tints laid this morning. She's been laying a cute little cream colored egg for 3 days now. An egg a day... good girl! I have 15 of those pullets total. But, boy are they escape artists and can fly! One little girl flew right into the black walnut tree that overhangs the run the other evening.
Dh cut me 2 new signs just like my old egg sign but a little smaller. He finished painting the white, now I have to do the lettering. I'll have my sign back and with a spare one to boot! Thanks honey!

We've finally been seeing them around here. Everytime we find them we feed them to chickens LOL Love watching one of them run around with it in their mouth while the others chase after them.

best darn pork chops I have ever cooked. Entire meal cooked over charcoal. Ifound this grill roadside for free on Monday. Redid it and now using it. This was the grill how I found it.

Sadly, I lost my Holland poult to a bad prolapse a few weeks ago. The other thirteen turkeys are great, though. I have three jakes - two Bronzes and a Pencilled Palm - and ten jennies. Brahmapapa, I can set you up with a Bronze trio or quad if you'd like - they're ready to roll. I love them. Turkeys are awesome - everybody should have some.

Stony - that is super awesome, I want something like that. That dinner looks super yummy.

Lynzi - yes the eggs are super yummy the first one was a double yolk, I've been saving the other big ones.


Chick - glad you found the egg eater!

AQHA - omg that's crazy, I only saw a few this year

Chickens are good! I have to build another roost bar since no one will roost on the bottom perches lol!
