NY chicken lover!!!!

Yea I was thinking of doing that. I already have her hidden because I can't stand the stuff she posts. She's a grown 40-something year old woman and by her posts you would think she was in high school. Once I'm done working I'll get rid of her.

Oh, sounds like my SIL. What? Did I just say that?

Looks like I'll be going to the State Fair more then I thought. I'm going to have to help out the family on the weekends at least. My family has been working at the fair cooking breakfast for as far back as I can remeber. I used to help out before I went to college, but it has been many years since I have worked with them. My grandpa has been in the hospital (He should be coming home tomorrow) and it desn't look like he will be able to do it this year, so I was asked if I would help out again. I couldn't say no to my grandpa! So I'll be working at the fair on the weekends when they are the busiest and possibly a few days during the week. Hopefully I'll still be able to take my little ones during the week. Last few weeks of summer vacation just got much busier.

I think that I'm going to start pulling out some of the stuff in my garden. The corn is only 2ft and it is turning brown. Caulifower isn't growing. oh well. There isn't anyhing really growing. I have a few tiny tomatoes but the plants are so little I don't think that they'll get to the point where they'll be able to be eated. I did manage to find 2 tiny pumpkins, but I know they won't turn out to much, Looks like we'll have to hit the pumpkin patch this year. I don't have any squash or zuchinni either, not even 1 flower. It is just a total disaster. The only good thing that looks like it is growing is the carrots. Here's hoping. I'm at the point where I've given up on it for the year. I just want to pull it up and get it ready for next year and call it good. I'll probably start once school starts.

DW works with a woman who is to put it politely mentally ill. Uses lots of FMLA but says things she shouldn't. Has no filter. Now I have someone similar, but I just let what she says go, cuz as one person put it, "she's half nuts".

I don't think they do it purposefully. I'm always polite but don't get involved with her nor encourage her. You can't reason with them so don't waste your time. Short and sweet, short and sweet.

Oh and I sure don't have FB. You folks are enough.

I only learned to like them last summer, Now, due to Vitamin K watching, I cannot eat them as much as I'd like...figures, so I go slow and want to preserve them so I can spread out eating them all winter....

I love Kale chips...so easy to make. put leaves on baking sheet, spead with olive oil, salt & pepper & any other tasty thing you want to add, then bake in oven until slightly brown on edges. Cool, & eat....yummy.
Do you have a cold room for storage of winter squash, potatoes, etc? Seems that the popular choice for preserving is to freeze them. Google yielded several sites that tell you how to do it.

That's this girl, no filter....complains and complains but does nothing to make her life better. But like you said, we all just keep it short and sweet with her and that's that. There's no telling her any different. 6 more days, just 6 more days!

Rancher if it weren't for the fact of my son's uncle wanting to share info I wouldn't have one either.

I hope all is well with everyone.

Rancher I had a broody. Let her think she was going to hatch her golf balls and ping pong balls but then the other 3 big girls stopped laying also. I kept tossing her out with no luck. Finally I pulled her out after dark and put her on the roost. She didn't go back in the nesting box for 3 days, when I found her again at night a couple days ago I put her on the roost again. So far so good she hasn't gone back. I'm thinking the cool air we have had at night might of broke her on her bare tummy :)
