Thanks, she's a gregarious, robust gal. No, she hasn't started to lay yet. I wonder which will start to lay first, the Sussex or the Lavender Orp? I'm really not sure what time frame they should start laying (can you remember)? I can't imagine the little Brabanter laying. Even out of my older birds from Rancher, only 2 of the 4 are laying. The Columbian Rocks (2) haven't started, but I think one of them is about to any day. She's checking out the nest box often!

We are back from NJ. Went down for a wedding, very nice, but it took me all week to get civilized enough. Wish I'd had those shoes.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Back to the grind....I think I woke up every hour on the hour from 2am to 6 this morning! Ugh No crowing though, so it must have been a fluke with the moon being so bright that night.

We are back from NJ. Went down for a wedding, very nice, but it took me all week to get civilized enough. Wish I'd had those shoes.

I am originally from NJ and don't miss it one bit. On the rare occasions we travel back there to visit, we can feel ourselves tensing up as we get closer and closer...and the traffic and aggressive drivers get more intense. But I do hope you enjoyed the wedding! What town were you in? Isn't it always nice to come back here to Central NY? When we smell manure, we say, "ahhhh, we're almost home!" LOL!

Funny you mention that about NJ, that's how I feel about CT, not so much when I'm heading there, but by the second full day I'm there I'm itching to leave. I think that's why no matter how late I stay up on Saturday nights there, I can still still wake up at the crack of dawn on Sunday to get ready and head home!

I haven't met an Italian lady that wasn't feisty good luck.

Looks like I'm out of work until Wed. sinus infection and the flu. If it wasn't for working in sawdust all day I'd still be working :-(
