I do recall hearing something about this....had forgotten the details of the story, but an older fellow had been feeling ill and when they removed the moth balls, he got better. Not sure if it was proven or a coincidence, but....

Here. Do you believe me now? I have a box in the linen closet. It was suggested to use one in the vaccum bag to kill fleas. However the smell was terrible and as you can see I stopped using them. They are dangerous and should imo, be avoided at all costs. I don't know how to dispose of them so I still have them. At the very least they should be used with caution. I tell you this because I care.

I'm really temped to travel the 3+ hours to the picnic - I look forward to reading this every morning - it starts my day out with some decent humans .... I'm so glad Pyxis told me about this thread!

If I go - any of you have blue egg layers ? I have EE and light green to olive - I want to add a true blue to my mix. That and marans who lay very dark eggs - I found out after I jumped that many color varieties just lay brown eggs - but I want them so dark they look like chocolate.

I'd love to get chicks of any of the two above.

Crazy4chicks - as long as the eggs are blue - I don't care about the hen's color - I liked a mixed looking flock ... only thing I don't like on a chicken is bright yellow legs and that is just my own personal issue But I like all colors and such. Just need real blue eggs. (need ... hum want? or need? ... hum.... I think I have that morehen disease ....)

That's why picked up these EE chicks LOL I want some blue egg layers by Spring time. The ones I have will lay blue, yellow and/or green eggs when they are older.

Well its warmer out and snow is melting so ladies have come out of coop past two days to eat. But now i have to fine water proof boots. Puddles over ankles and slush snow on top of that.

I need more coops. Over populated but i dont want to get rid of any bids. And im hatching out more.

Evening all. Got the coops cleaned and freshened up. Everyone got some time out to run around the paths. Dropped a bag of leaves into the silkie run and one in the terrorist run. Snow is melting pretty good. Hope its off my roof before the rain comes. DD did some baking. Lots more to do. Yes, M, I was off today. My soul will be sucked out again tomorrow.
