Well since it stopped raining and I decided to go out and clean out that duck house. That was a mistake! That thing was so wet and so full of hay/shavings that the bottom tray of the coop was completely falling apart. So I removed it completely and stapled a folded up tarp to the bottom of it. This way I can continue to throw shavings and hay in there without it turning into mud from being directly on the lawn. It's so muddy and gross out there. YUCK! I cannot wait to move the coops back up the top of the yard and throw seed down along the back of the house. I'm actually thinking of ordering more poultry netting so I can let the silkies and whatever bantams I add out in the yard to "free range" this summer. Or maybe I'll just give them the one I have now. Since it'll just be the trio of Orps they can go do what they want in the yard, there's no need to have them inside the netting. I plan on keeping the 2 EEs in with the bantams.
