Lol when it costs 600 to heat one floor to 65 for a month and half or so. No water no heat atm. Sorry but house needs to burn down.

Here is short list of whats bad. All electric lines need redone, no insulation in any walls, air moves through wlls into house, plaster falling apart behind wall paper, all floors/carpet need redone, all floors un even or bowed, all but 6 windows need replaced, foundation needs redone, well needs redone, there is more. So yeah house needs rebuilt or burned.

Weve done electric box, roof, 6 windows, repaired water lines and boiler, replaced water heater, redid drain lines in kitchen, side door. Everytume something gets fixed another bill comes up or car breaks or appliance breaks. I'm ready to let the bank have this house cause we will never get ahead while we own it.

I got the eggies - mine were also flat on top ... and I just can't get eggs to hard boil even with these training wheels ....they came out over done and then underdone .... I'm sure it is my fault.

My issue is that I can't (won't) just stay in the kitchen and time things - I want it to boil for a while - then let me toss it in cool water and come back to shell when I darn well please - and I always loose most of the white part when I peel .... even when I use older eggs.

I wish I could get this to work without having to be right there at the right second ... I fly to job to job and project to project and just am not that precise in my home cooking .... chili is great for me.

add a tablespoon of any kind of vinegar to the water and even fresh eggs shell well. Cold water after boiling is said to help too. I do both and have no problem. And what do you consider "old"? Store bought eggs are over a month old when they get to the market....that's why they shell so nicely.

I keep at least a dozen in the back of the fridge just to hard boil.

JLaw you sound like you are talking about my house before we moved in. The place had been empty for 3 years and it was in bad shape. I can't even begin to think about how much money we have put into the house All windows and doors, all floors, furnace & duct work, hot water heater, a whole kitchen cause there wasn't any literally and we are still working on the electrical and the basement . Luckily we have some great contractor friends that cut us a break on labor but it was still a money pit. It is nice that we are finally feeling like we are getting somewhere with it. Last spring DH and I finally got our own room! It was the 4 of us in a tiny room up till then. New room had to be gutted ceiling beams had to be cut out and replaced cause of a fire from long ago and needed all new electrical. I kept hearing $ cha ching $ every time the came down.

Good Luck...
PS...Love the beard!

but what about peeling them without wasting half the darn egg and having mostly just the yoke to eat ?

After they are done I run cold water over them for 5 minutes or so then fill the pan with ice cubes & put it in the fridge for an hour or so. They peel super easy.

Lol when it costs 600 to heat one for month and half or so floor

not counting my labor sawing and splitting wood I'll heat all winter for $250 :D .  Sorry...just had too

Same here for me. We get the logs dropped off then do all the labor. 2 years ago I had over 40 cords of wood for like $500. I just used the last few pieces from 2 years ago. This year I will need to get back on the list for wood. I only have a. Few cords from last summers one load.

a local tree guy / landscape guy/ farmer / logger drops off any wood here he can not sell as firewood. He just shows up and dumps it off or a log truck shows up and unloads it. When he drops it off in his dump truck it is already cut, just needs to be split. This year the world offered me 8 cord of pine in log lengths. a few ugly oaks and maples, a HUGE willow tree. He knows I can burn anything. Burned the willow before it got cold. Switched to pine with a chuck or 2 of hardwood in it in the OWB when it got stupid cold. I have to load it more often than if I bought good dry hardwood but this is much cheaper. I grew up on firewood and have not had a fuel bill here since 1991. Firewood our ONLY source of heat for the house, workshop and our domestic hot water.

Same here....except for the first couple of years we burned stuff we cut down around the property. Now we have to buy wood. I wish these guys that have signs on their lawn for "firewood" would return my calls. Better yet, the guy who delivered 10 cords of log lengths to my neighbor? Wish he would return my call. I don't mind the work, but I am all out of trees to cut down in my own yard and I don't think the neighbors (SUNY Cortland) would appreciate me cutting down their forest.
