I have to dig out my little green house tomorrow out of the garage and let it warm up. I got out all my seed trays and I got my flower seeds today! I think that I'll be putting it up in the upstairs hallway for now. it is nice and sunny up there and warm. It'll be up there till it starts to warm up and I can move it into the back room. So excited.. Spring will be here soon...(I hope) I'm starting more flowers this year then last with the hopes that I won't have to buy any this year...But I think that I'm going to fill one of the flower bed out front of the house with tomatoe plants this year. It is nice and sunny and the one leftover plant that I put out there last year did the best of any of them in the garden.

Last April I received two Jersy Giants as baby chicks. I herd that JG take longer to mature but my hens are still smaller than my brahmas ( same age). They are really friendly and curious birds. But I don't think they are JG. Maybe black Australorps?? Does anyone have any experience with either breed?

Australorps will have black legs and the bottom of their feet will be white. They are a big bird. Hope this helps

I have one of those little 4 shelf greenhouses, itching to pull it out again. Hubby and I were discussing getting grow lights, since we start our own seeds. But reaching to the window for light makes them too leggy and they usually break in the wind as soon as transplanted. Got plenty of leftover seeds, so going to put the seed money to growing supplies instead. Anyone have recommendations? We do have some fluorescent light fixtures in the garage that will be replaced, can we use those with the HO T5 or T8 bulbs? I seen CM has grow lights on sale, with a 20% sale next Friday, but want to keep costs down.

Lap, I think if you get one bulb that is warm spectrum and the other cool spectrum you get the full spectrum of light for growing. And cheaper than those grow bulbs.
