Oh so cool! I have been eyeing them for a while! I love the fluffy cheeks, probably why I like my EE's and Faverolles, LOL.
Let me know how you like them! I heard they weren't great layers but you can't believe everything you read on the internet.

You won't be disappointed if you go there. They stand behind what they sell and do a wonderful job taking care of their birds. Jim and Sandy are hard workers.
My only exposure with the place in Fayette was on here, they were very defensive and condescending. I would steer clear just based on what I have heard from a few others who have done business with them.

On another note, I gave a friend a dozen eggs to hatch and all of them were duds. I wonder if I didn't collect them soon enough and they froze or if fertility was low. Oh well, probably for the best since the daddy is a little bugger.

I'm really tickled about the Orloff, I searched and searched to avoid buying hatchery stock which look really different than older stock out there somewhere. My main focus is Russian Orloff and Auburn Java. Well, I like all the Java

but how can I resist a chicken with funny muffs, hawk like faces and beards like the Orloff. I like them for the way they stand upright in appearance too.. very regal I think. Plus I wanted to do something for endangered breeds. I don't mind about the egg laying, they are dual purpose as well and I'll have other egg layers. Their eggs are oblong well at least the ones I have now are.. Very easy to tell them in the incubator without marking them. I've read that the egg laying decreases yearly as they age.. we'll see! I would like to have a few Faverolles too very cute! My Brabanters look like they are having a bad hair day with the funny topknot and feathers trying to come in.

Dang it , I shut the bathroom faucet off on accident and now its frozen

well tomorrow then ... praying for no burst.

congrats!!!

Lynzi what do you have hatching?

I picked up some eggs from someone while I was in CT towards the end of February. They are **supposed** to be Silkie eggs. However when I picked them up the guy had written "polish" on one and crossed it off labeling it Silkie, informing me it was in fact a silkie egg. So we'll see. I plan on rehoming some because I won't be able to keep all 5. I'm hoping to get a splash but if I don't get any colors I want to work with they will all be rehomed. I just wanted eggs to test in my Brinsea since my birds were not laying. Figured I might as well get a breed that I'm working with. If they turn out to be Polish I'll just laugh.

2 pips!!!!

I have Del chicks and if you weren't so far you could have some. Iv'e got them posted to CL but if they don't sell I'll have to give them away. I've been in contact with a friend in MO and will be getting some of hers next month Lord willing.
If Lapeerian wants some I am about half way I don't mind picking them up and meeting her?
