NY chicken lover!!!!

I kept my netting up all thru winter and it's still in good shape. I don't electrify mine, it's used just as fencing. Mine is now sectioned off I to pens/runs for the three different coops which by the way I'm beginning to think was a bad idea -getting into all these different projects and what not. I cannot stand all the crowing that has been going on! It's so annoying! The minute they all stop one starts up again and then all follow. Ugh

Its a Crow a thon ...This is what drove my men crazy ( hubby & son ) . 3 roosters crowing .
I thought it was cute . I imagined them talking
Roo 1 .".Im out front " roo 2 Im out back ...Roo 3 ( Boss Roo) "you stay where you are if you know what is good for you "
Gave little girl her first riding lesson as hubby rode the other horse.
Cleaned the stinkey little chicks, here they are waiting to get back in the brooder.
Pooopy chicks I call mine ..I am ready to take them outside in their baby run if I can figure how to get it so they can stay warm if it gets colder again .
Cute ! sweet Smile ! who is she smiling at ? Papa ?

I was outside all day putting a new "roof" on the coop. I got a billboard for free for it

and the used some clear plastic for the ends. It's actually attached in both these pics but its so clear you can't tell. And it's super thick, like windows in a pop up camper, so it def will hold up to our weather

Cute ! like they are expecting it to magicly pop open
The new "roof" / billboard ..Im curious what does it say ?

Wondering if anyone within 2 hours of Saratoga NY would have some fertile eggs I could buy to use for 2 classroom hatchings.-2 doz or so. Can be mixed. Need some with light colored shells so we can candle easily.
Had trouble with my computer so just getting on. Need fresh eggs by April 21 or so.
Can anybody help?
I always have mutt eggs if you need any. I do have leghorn mix eggs which would be white, although I don't know if my roos get to all of them. the rest would be green/blue/brown.

Yeah - it is the crow fest that I am not enjoying now - I have 4 roosters crowing with some from the bachelor pad that chime in sometimes. Too much.

Pyxis - pick Bleu up a little and give him some hug punishment ... he's had a difficult week of confinement - and he may blame you on it all - since you are the one around .... His brother is in with the ravens right now .... He hates it when I hold him - so that may take him down a peg and save your ankles. I wouldn't worry about his fundamental temperament though - he was great all winter - even in a coop with many other roos .... it is just spring time and that week of confinement ....

If they could figure out how to open it we would be in trouble :) The billboard is from a volunteer fire service recruitment they had going a couple years ago. I put the people pics on the inside so the girls had some company :)

I can't see any of the billboard - can you zoom in on it ?

I love to see how people use things for new purposes.

thanks

Question for those of you with NPIP....What exactly happens when you apply for NPIP? How much does it cost? Do they test every bird you own? How do you know what tests to ask for? How often does it have to be done? Sorry for so many questions but I am considering getting into showing. However, I hate having anything govt related knowing my business. Input would be greatly appreciated.

It's free in NYS. They test 30 birds and check your housing and incubating areas. It is done once a year.

division of animal industry disease control unit 518-457-3502

You could call this number and ask for more info or ask to set up a test date.
