NY chicken lover!!!!

Yep - on extra heat and acting the same - no obvious distress other the wings out and the weird balance thing ....

Definitely not a snake with the other clues added in ...

She was definitely running around yesterday, so that's odd. Is she still eating and drinking? You might try giving her a little sugar water to give her some extra energy. I'll have to check on mine tonight when I get home from work to make sure all is well. Which one is it, the first one we got or the second one? How's the little marans doing?

If you get a chance take a picture of them and we can help you out. Like Lynzi said their quack sounds very different. The drakes have a quieter more raspy sound, the girls are much louder, more like a typical duck noise. Maybe you were luckily and got all girls, you never know. I have learned that too. I had been planning on breeding my Blue runners at least once to see what would come of it.

I love the Magpie drake that I have he is beautiful. I can't catch him that easily, but that is okay I love him just the same. I can't wait till next year when I can start breeding them. Until then I'll make due with what I have and keep looking for some older girls for my boy. If I would have know that you were interested in the Magpies I would have gotten the 10 and split it with you. When they are outside they aren't to bad. Hang in there.
Have you ever tried feeding them out of a bucket from your hands? Everytime I walk outside now the ducks all come running towards me because they think I'm coming to feed them. That's how I feed them now. I was actually sitting on the stoop of my shed the other day and kept the feed bucket right between my feet and as they ate out of it I was petting them. They're getting more and more used to me every day. I love it!

I thought that things were getting better, but right now if they are in the run their only thoughts is how to get in with the girls. I have been working with them, but it is slow. Their hormones are raging. I do like to go sit in the run and give them all treats, but usually I'm swarmed with chickens.

Quick question...

The TSC chicks I brought him yesterday are acting kind of funny today. It started with one silver sebright twitching his head. Then the rest of the silver sebrights started twitching their heads. Now all of the chicks, including the australorps (not bantams) are twitching their heads.

They have plenty of water and food. The box is warm enough. Any ideas? It did start shortly after I put a flat plate of grit in there. Could this be related?

I don't know if it is related but do know that if you are just feeding them chick starter they don't need grit you only give grit when they start getting other foods such as bugs, grass, and corn

I added the grit because I had read that it can help with the pasty butt...lol!

Hi everyone! I set some eggs in the bator yesterday, nothing special just my mixes and a couple Sussex. Just got my first ever shell less egg as I'm typing! My daughter brought it in. 6/12 eggs today, slackers
