NY chicken lover!!!!

I have a computer question. Maybe one of your kids can answer it if you can't.

I've been deleting my spam each time and quite frankly I get a lot of it. 60-70 or more, every time I'm on. If I didn't I have over 200 in a day.

Would it help if I moved it to "trash" instead of deleting it? Would Google get the hint that this stuff is trash and not let it through?

I can't follow every chicken newsletter or stuff like that and I'm really not interested in a Russian Bride. Women who speak English are hard enough for me to understand let alone one who speaks a foreign language.

Why not? A woman you cant under stand would be great. You never know when your getting yelled at or not so you could always act like your not in trouble lol.

But to answer your question I just went to my yahoo account and figured out how to do what you want done. Mind you this will take a bit and wont stop all of the spam since they make no mails and websites all the time.

When you open up your spam folder right click the box to left of the address you don't want to receive any more. A menu will pop up if any thing on the menu is greyed out you have to uncheck boxes next to other mails. Once you get the menu up the 4th line from bottom reads "filter emails like this". Click that. A little window will pop up. At the bottom left of that window there is a scroll box that should be high lighted blue with default [new folder]. Click that and select trash. Then save it. That will add all e-mails from that address to your trash folder as they are sent.

Now you can go to your settings and put filters in there but the problem with that is any more they don't type anything in the body of the e-mails. They put hyper links or pics in there or the e-mail auto closes the body so you really cant block the messages like you should be able to.

This is all I have just learned trying it out. I have yet to test it over any period of time so I cant tell you how well it works.

Wow! Look at all the chicken people around me! I thought I was alone for a long time! Hahaha, I'm about half hour away from Corning ny. We have a mixed flock, Cochins, silkies (of course), red sex links, black austrolorps, white leghorns, and auracaunas. Plus all the turkeys lol.

Quote: Porcelains are made by breeding buff to lavender. After a couple of generations, you can breed them together, that is what I have, pure porcelains. At some point, people breed back to one of the original colors is that color is fading. If you breed a porcelain (buff x lavender) you will get more buff color than lavender. Probably in the next generation, no lavender. Lavender is actually self-blue, and blue, is diluted black, so it probably won't work if its the black leakage you want to get rid of.

How far apart are your temps? It they are in different areas of the incubator, they could be different by up to 1 degree. If they are all close inthe same area, then they should be almost the same. I just bought the new Accurite, I think its called. all in one, reads humidity, high and low temps within a 24 hour period and resets itself at the same time every day. Its about 4 inches square and 1 inch thick. Has a magnet on the back so you can stick it to a metal shelf. I love it.

The thermostat reads 99.5 because that's what it is set at, another one reads 102.5 and another one is 100.1 and one 98.8. They read the same no matter where I put them. I just stuck my oral thermometer that I use to check for fevers, its digital, that reads 100.9. When I check my temp its 98.3. That seems like the best one to go by. Like I said I have 3 accurites coming in the mail but my mail don't come until 3:30.

Ok...I had a similar issue with Hotmail, maybe a year ago. TONS AND TONS of spam, and it was nasty spam (you know the smutty nasty stuff). I have NO clue how my email address got on any of their mailing lists, because I do NOT surf on any kind of site that is in anyway related to that kind of stuff, and I'm the only one using the computer...hubby can't even turn it on (completely computer illiterate).

So I did what you suggested. I was marking each email as "do not allow from this address". But it wasn't making a dent...so I took a look at the addresses and noticed they were all different. I can't explain it, they weren't from a domain like @hotmail or @yahoo or anything like that. I think it was a series of numbers. I want to say they were temporary email addresses.

Lately, the spam in my hotmail has dropped off a bit. I actually keep four email addresses...one is my "professional" email which i use for sending my husband's resume, or corresponding with his employer, as well as other business type purposes. I have a yahoo email which I had to sign up for when I was signing up for freecycle, which, at the time, was run through yahoo email lists. I have a second hotmail, which I've had for ages (and is the one that was getting the most spam) and I use it for online shopping purposes. I have a gmail, which I can't remember the reason for opening...probably because I needed a Google account.

I rarely get spam in my professional hotmail and gmail accounts. I get lots of spam from yahoo and the 2nd hotmail account. And it seems to come in waves. I don't think there's a whole lot you can do about it.

Where abouts from Corning? We are in Penn Yan! My husband works in Elmira and, in fact, delivers quite often in Corning (though that's not his regular route).

Two questions...

1) Which Accurite did you get? When I checked on Amazon, there are a few listed...but I'd like to pick one up myself.

2) If I post pics of my two silkie chicks (one is nearly two weeks, and the other is about a week), would you be able to tell me colors? I think one of them is a blue, but I have no idea on the other, and my neighbor (whom gave them to me) isn't sure...he has a whole mess of different silkies.

I would guess, that if the thermostat is set for 99.5, they the 98;3 is the accurate one. You actually want the thermostate set a little higher than what you want the temps to be. IE: set for 100 if you want 99.5 because it will heat to 100, turn off and then it has leeway before it kicks on again, but during the time its off, the temps will be closer to 99.5 while its cooling down a little.
