NY chicken lover!!!!

I have a bantam brahma that went broody and started setting on eggs about the end of April. Usually I take them, but this time I let her keep 6. Then one of my BO's decided she was broody too and kept trying to set on the same eggs. There was a bit of a battle, so I divided the 6 eggs and gave them the enclosed area where I put my juveniles to introduce them to the flock. They've been in there for 18 days and I haven't candled them, so we'll soon see. I am, of course, anxious about how the other chickens will be and if the chicks (if they arrive) will be okay...

More worried about the 3 month old wyandottes, not sure why. And of course (chicken math), I have the 2 hatchlings in the brooder that are 2 weeks old and 28 eggs in the incubator! And yet, don't tell my boyfriend, I was on-line looking at eggs yesterday! Both chickens AND ducks! Anybody know anything about the miniature silver appleyard ducks? I think I like them!

does anyone ever sell any birds at the finger lake poultry show at the fair grounds? is there a good vareity of ducks there?

min. silver apple yards are super easy to hatch compared to calls. they are slight bigger than a call but still a bantam duck. i want them too but am too in to my runners no room lol.

They have sales cages. They are $4 each, max of 4 birds per cage.
They do not allow sales outside of the building, its a State Fair rule.

Ugh! I know what you mean about the rain! I'm looking forward to the Small Animal Auction in Corning on Sunday. It's actually supposed to be nice. So, I have my eye out for miniature silver appleyard eggs for incubating. The bator will be free after 5/31 and nothing calls out to you like an empty incubator!

oh have you seen them there before? min appleyards are quite rare around here. down south alot more people keep waterfowl.

i am thinking about going to auction in adams but cant make up my mind i dont want to get up early lol. so want to go to auction but corning is 98 miles one way. syracuse is far enough lol 50 miles. adams is 60 miles from me too.

my yard is all mud from the rain need to do an over haul on the duck and geese yard where they hang out. i cant keep my goose eggs clean. i need to go to lowes and buy some sand. we have clay soil here.
