NY chicken lover!!!!

Not a happy ending for my sister's dog. He had been found.... Shot in the neck, collar removed and buried in the neighbors yard!!! And he is not the only dog shot and buried on this sick mans property!! There are others also! The police are investigating.
I'm so sorry for her. No matter how it happened. If this guy is a repeat offender then he should to be stopped.

Ugh - makes me so angry. And I'm so, so sorry for your sister and her family. How awful. I sure hope there is something that can be done, because this guy is obviously either a whacko or downright malevolent. Again, I'm really sorry.

By the way, how did they find the dog?

Wow, how sad for your sister.
What kind of person does this on a regular basis that they a dog graveyard of other people's dogs in their backyard?? How sick!!

How close to the road other houses is this guy shooting from? Also kinda wonder what else he has buried in that yard or in his freezer? Around here put we each other critters back in the house or tie them out front with water until owner finds them. Even town cops will return an animal if they have an address on tags.
Rancher be careful of ticks while hunting that fox.
How common is gap worm? Garden is over run with slugs thinking of putting tunnel run between rows for the chickens. Read where they can get gap worm from them.

sounds like your Fox has learned your routines and such, have you considered one of those large havahart traps? thought i saw one on craigslist recently. i've read several times over the years that fox will move their kits if they feel threatened, keep walkin around out there, maybe she will move, probably not. sometimes you can see the game trails near the creek, look for poop and tracks right on the deer trails. also, the kits are real active right now so if you keep an eye out you may see them and get a better idea where they live
good luck, keep us posted
I've not seen the fox only once last year when she took a bird but didn't get that one either. I followed into the woods and she dropped it. The bird survived.
The woods are not well traveled so there are no paths. It all grown over with some weed. There are wild rose bushes here and there.

You can do a google search to see the satelite view of the Butternut Creek/ Kirkville Road/Fremont Rd area.

I need one of those metal attachments for my Weed whacker to cut down the heavy stuff.

I don't hear anything at night, so they may not be as close as I think.

I remember your story about seeing a fox on the way to church, and how you turned around and ran back to your coops to make sure everyone was safe!

That was a couple years ago. I have seen one dead one in the road. My neighbor said she stopped to move it and it was a female with kits, based on her boobs. The foxes not my neighbors.

She said this one had kits too based on the same evidence. She beat on a metal tin pan in the yard with a stick and scared it away.

Baby ducks dont have active oil glands in their tails .so how long should they be dried & warmed up after a bath / pool swim. ?
They are a month now ..they preen themselves ..they seem okay after their swim .without the dry off now .
Are they inside or out mine when they get out I put them back in brooder no issues then when we put them out fully feathered no problems my Pekings weren't tho but were fine
