Have to ask, does anyone here click on the coupon offers? There are some we could use, but don't want to get scammed like with the Tide offer.

Bought some new types of mice traps and a plastic rat trap too. Set the havahart with some bait too. I hope to get these stinking squirrels.

Gramma- I downsized my flock and sent all the big roo's to the freezer. Thanks for the article on the weasels.

The weasel got another one last night and one during the day in the coop. Must have a hole in the barn somewhere. UGH. I barricaded the inside coop door last night and the weasel (or whatever it is) ate through the bottom corner and got one of my big layers. I just set the live traps with what they left behind. I hope I catch whatever it is! I have never had a predator problem where we used to live (for 4 years nothing!) Now our new house 4 months and in the last week I lost 5 chick/hens.

I feel so defeated. I almost wish we didn't move. This is devastating.

So Sorry ...it must be heart breaking ...You couldnt have known a weasel / predator was there ...Dont Blame yourself .
Can you bring the chickens inside the house as a emergency measure ? Do you have a cellar ? .that is what I would do .
My hubby wouldnt like that ...but honestly ..if the coop wasnt safe enough & they were still being attacked ...they would be in my cellar
What kind of coop do you have ? is it all open ? it ate through wood or wire or what ?
There might be more than one ..as the day & night hunting .
I hope you catch the bugger !

I set 2 live traps with dead chickens as bait yesterday. When my little one wakes up I will go check them. We also bought 2 rat traps and built box tunnel traps late last night that I have to modify then set today.

I WILL catch them!

There isn't really a way to bring them inside. We blockaded the door which is a wire shelf turned on its side. That is the only way in besides coop door which is shut.. the co-op is a small old dog kennel that we added roosts to temporarily until we can transport our bigger coop from our old house. It ate through a thick foam I insulating board. Looking back I should've used something thicker. Now there is wood blocking it.

It was definitely chilly. Had a good time yesterday and we did well in the show. 3 firsts, 1 best variety and 1 reserve variety. Good to see you guys yesterday.

wish I could have met you all. it WAS chilly! I ended up with a green sweater not a purple shirt after spilling my coffee all down the front B$ even getting out the door.

I had the only Orloff there and so they won their little non APA thing. Did get to meet some others from the USA & Canada Orloff Club and got to take a extra RO rooster home a member gave me.

Was a lot of fun! Heres a pic of my best boy I took, mama's baby.

Rancher- Don't get a flu shot while you are sick. You can probably call and ask the drug stores though if they bill insurance.
