NY chicken lover!!!!

Could you make her a little house that could go in the fenced in area? I have made a few little coops that I use as broody coops that are just big enough for 1-3 birds. That way she could go into a secure house each night that she felt comfortable in and you could lock her up safely at night.

These are 2 of my little coops. I made the wire run to attach to the little blue coop so I can use it as my quarantine coop. They are nice and little and very handy. I have Fredo and his girls living in the Red one and my Duck Lottie (that thinks that he is a chicken) sleeps in the blue one. I plan on making a few more this year!

Not sure what's in those tubs but I'd like to offer this to those who use mash or crumbles. To reduce waste make a mush out of crumbles. I do this with my chicks after a certain age. I mix in water or milk (if I get the outdated stuff from the school) Chickens seem to waste a lot with mash or crumbles.

I do use crumbles when I have a mixed flock of youngsters and older Dels. Dels seem to be more receptive to youngsters in the flock. I feed grower starter to them all but have to watch for soft shells.

Ok question... Does anyone know the laws on chickens in lockport ny? Are the laws the same throughout the whole state?

Check with your county zoning. Not all addresses are zoned the same and there are different types. You could call your county office but I don't trust folks. Some are to lazy to look things up and zoning maps change.

I'm Agricultural restricted. Means I can't sell things I don't produce here on my property.

I was just looking at my calendar and Chickenstock is the same day we are camping with the Cubscouts. Is it rude if I bring the family for an hour or so and say a quick "Hi" to everyone and then cruiz back to set up camp. I don't think it is too far a drive from Syracuse.

If you are nearby can't you work that into the scout thing. Sort of like an educational thing? Anyone need a badge for helping? They could come and serve some food or play games with the little ones? Or do they have to do it for longer than an hour?

Mapquest says 1 & 1/2 hour drive each way. I'll have to check the scout itinerary. They are launching their model rockets sometime in the afternoon and it is my youngest's 1st official rocket launch/campout. I guess we'll see as it gets closer.

Anyone live in the "Southern Tier"? I'm in Chemung county, new to backyard chickens. So far my six little chicks are doing great
