NY chicken lover!!!!

I am loving that nipple waterer setup!! I may have to make a few!!

Thanks, this one is made using 3" pvc and holds about 1 gallon of water. I am making a second one for my large brooder that is attached to a rail system on the side of the brooder to adjust for height as the chicks grow. Other than chicken dust, dirty water is my least favorite chore with peeps.

Ok, pics of new chicks. EE roo over Australorp, EE, Brahma, Red Star, Amber link, & Tetra tint hens. Below: 20 chicks in a box while brooder is being cleaned. Below: EE roo over Dark Brahma hen = Below: The brooder setup Below: We're cold! Stop taking pictures and put the Brinsea brooder panel back down. EE over EE chick posing in front of chicken nipples
I am loving the waterer set up too, have you experienced and leaking like that? I have some nipples I may have to get building :) very cute chicks mine are a week old on Friday too :)

We had a new arrival this morning, isn't she adorable :love

Not sure what's in those tubs but I'd like to offer this to those who use mash or crumbles. To reduce waste make a mush out of crumbles. I do this with my chicks after a certain age. I mix in water or milk (if I get the outdated stuff from the school) Chickens seem to waste a lot with mash or crumbles.

I do use crumbles when I have a mixed flock of youngsters and older Dels. Dels seem to be more receptive to youngsters in the flock. I feed grower starter to them all but have to watch for soft shells.
I keep their food in the tubs. I use pellets most of the time, but they LOVE it when they get warm mash. I haven't had to much trouble with spillage with the larger tubs. They do climb in on occasion. The smaller ones tend to get spilled easier when the birds try to climb in. I do have some gravity type feeders, but I don't like to use them that often. If I had a different set up then they would work better for me, but the tubs work for me. I do use the feeders for when I have little chicks till they are big enough to get the food out of the tubs.

Oh WOW - how cute !!!! and now momma won't be lonely !!!

Only one, huh? Maybe because it is her first :)

Your kids must be over the moon !!!!! I know how they love all animals ... but this has to be so cool for them.
