NY chicken lover!!!!

Is everyone full up?  I posted some Delawares on CL and even called a few people but no one wants them.

I'm sure there are at least four pullets out of seven. I'm not sure what the Blue EE is but even that one no one wants.  They're nine weeks old and don't need heat but still no takers.

I'm leaving in a week or so and don't want to leave DD to take care of them.

I have other chicks she'll taking care off.

I would totally take the dels if I didn't just end up with a bad bearing in my Jeep. My daughter's car blew a head gasket, so my ability to do chicken runs is quite impaired! It's quite traumatic actually - I have dragged my hubby along on several really nice road trips now, and am enjoying my bird related outings! Suffice to say, if I had a reliable way out to you, I would definitely take them off of your hands!

If someone wants them and needs to wait till the picnic I can bring them with the rest of your things. I could also hold them here so your DD wouldn't have to.

Lacie's eggs are developing! I reached under her tonight while locking up the chickens and managed to grab one of the ones that are fertile and marked with an X and candled it quickly, and there is a little embryo in there! I got hissed at - I guess my nest visits do have some limitations, lol, but she didn't even attempt to bite me, just the one hiss, as if to say, "Okay, knock that off please." Mine in the incubator are developing too.

Any goat owners/breeders on here?  Maybe you have some insight.....

We had a very sad week... actually devastating.   Our 2 Nubian does passed away.  They went from fine to dead in less than 10 hours... vet did a necropsy, he wasn't sure what happened (said they were in great health), he thinks it was an acute bacterial infection (Clostridium) or that they got into something.  Absolutely heartbreaking.

We're so very upset :(
Sorry!!!

18 hatched out of 36. Mix of my eggs and another local farm. Mine were from EE hens and 1 leghorn hen with EE and another mixed roo.

One has a bad leg that won't straighten so I don't know what to do about that.

Have to get to Nutty's to get more starter and grower this week.
